Hello. First post here after a bit of lurking, which led directly to my purchase of Vapor4Life manual kit, with which I am profoundly pleased. Not ready to brag just yet, but so far I'm not smoking.
But. Today (about five days after delivery) on of the batteries stopped working. It shows fully charged (green light on the charger, no blinking light) but will not heat a cartomizer. I did some searching here, and read about problems with contacts on batteries and carts. I think I've eliminated the typical issues by cleaning the contacts with alcohol (not that they were dirty) trying multiple carts that work fine on other pvs, and making sure the contact point in the center of the battery and the carts has not been pushed in. This battery was working fine until this very afternoon, by the way. No glitches before this.
Finally, I compared the contact point on the "bad" battery with the one on the other battery and the usb passthrough device in the Vapor4Life kit, and found only one notable difference -- the hole in the center of the contact of the "bad" battery is slightly larger than the holes on either of the other two devices.
Does anyone know if this is a known issue -- is there a different or previous "batch" where the "hole" is too large and creates a problem with making contact? Not sure that would explain why it worked before though.
Anyone know anything about this?
Disclaimer: 1) Yes, I've e-mailed the company, but just a short while ago. They're very responsive, but I don't expect them to be able to respond for a day or two, and am just trying to figure out on general principle. 2) Yes I did a search. Found the bits about contact issues in general, but nothing about the "hole."
Thanks in advance for any wisdom.
Sorry for the long post.
I hate wordy posts.
