Hi all,
New and just 3 weeks into vaping but have been off analogs all that time and know there's no going back. Started with the usual cig look alike but got fed up with the constant charging so changed to a 650mah bat and 50mm carts in the last week. This setup is so much better but the carts I find a bit of a pain as you can't tell how much e liquid is left in there and the refilling takes time to soak or you have to use taryn method or flick like a thermometer and have noticed the flavour I get through after 1 or 2 refills gets pretty weak.

So looking for 2 things really :
1. Best way to test new flavours seems to be an atomizer - which would fit my KR808D-1 bat and where can I get them in the UK.

2. What is the best alternative to the cartomizer? is it a tank, clearomizer, whats the difference? do they leak? and why do they have to have the atomizer at the top with all those silly wicks to get to the liquid, has no one thought to have the atomizer at the base.

Hi and welcome to ECF.

I began with regular sized cartos, moved up to larger cartos and then finally a tank+ carto- can see juice level and cartos last longer because they're always saturated.

Yes atty are the best to test new juices. 2.0 ohms would be best. I'd have to look for a vendor though.

Problem with 808 threaded PVs is you're limited to juice delivery options as opposed to the 510 PVs. Some dislike clearomizers and some acidic juices will damage plastic tanks. There are BBC's available- bottom coil clearomizers. I've been using the Vision Vivi Novas for 7+ months and LOVE them BUT they're 510 threading. As far as I know Home page is the only vendor in the UK that sells 808 gear.

Edit: If your battery is a manual you could get an 808 battery to 510 adapter and use 510 accessories. "sometimes" there are airflow problems with adapters on auto batts.

Smokeless Image carries all 808 gear...CE3s, nanos, clearos, T3s...yada yada. Not sure if they ship to UK tho.

Using a carto to sample:
1. Remove the filler. Just pull it out with tweezers or something. Leave the center tube.
2. Drip in 2-3 drops and puff.
3. Rinse with hot water and allow to dry.

Only do this on a manual battery. This really won't work as a long term dripping thing...just for sampling.

I spent 5 years fiddling and futzing and quitting and going back to smoking with 808's. Do yourself a favor and get an eGo or 510 based system... there's so many more options.

Thanks for all the replies guys/gals trouble is have only just got these bats and as bats go ( not that I have anything to compare with ) they are good.

Am I right in thinking this adapter would allow me to use 510 fittings.

The battery is by the way a manual 650mah not sure of the V output think it's 4.2v though.

Also if I do decide to get an ego battery as an addition which is the best to for without it getting to big.
