I always hear car analogies when folks talk about PVs and it makes sense. My Provari is a Ferrari or my Darwin is the Mercedes of the vaping world. Given that analogy where does this leave the KR808? I would say this leaves the KR808s as a standard no frills manual transmission Toyota Corolla.
So, lets line all 3 of these cars together at the starting line and slowly accelerate until we hit 100 mph. At 80 mph all three cars are purring along side by side. The Mercedes or Darwin has a very sophisticated on board computer system giving the fuel mileage, tire air pressure, airflow mixture, spark advance curve, cabin temperature, seat heater control settings, etc.
The Ferrari or Provari also has an on board computer, not quite as sophisticated as the Mercedes, but gives you the performance info you need. Both of these performance cars have great handling, acceleration, and suspensions. Then we have the Corolla, absent an on board computer, the closest thing it has is a flashing LED clock. The acceleration response is a little slow and it comes with stock suspension which handles fine around town.
Yet all 3 cars are still side by side driving at 80 mph and performing well. Now Let's substitute 80 mph, with 3.7v, so all 3 PVs are now operating at 3.7v. with the same 3.3 ohm rated cartomizer. Just as all 3 drivers are moving 80 mph and will get from A to B at the same time. All 3 batts are putting out the exact same amount of vapor, the only variable is draw time. Flavor, Throat Hit, and Vapor Production are basically the same.
Let's accelerate up to 100 mph or 4.2v, the Mercedes and the Ferrari are humming along just fine and can run at 100 mph all day long. The Corolla is keeping up but the tires are at there limit, the handling is getting a little dicey, and at some point you will have to lower your speed.
The Corolla only has a 13 gallon tank, but the Ferrari and Mercedes have 100 gallon tanks and have no problems hitting speeds of up to 160+ mph. So at lower speeds the Corolla will do everything the more expensive cars will do, it just has no on board computer, carries a smaller tank, and has much lower price tag.
Why V4L KR808s Rock!
Comparing the top rated PV Mods to a KR808 is definitely apples and oranges. Given that, I believe it can be easily said that the V4L Diamond and Stealth Series are the Ferraris of the KR808 world. There are a dozen or so companies that sell KR Batts, some sell generics and other Gen 2s. So what makes the V4L batts so special?
Because they are unregulated these slim analog-like batts come off the charger at 4.2v, the switches have been improved to trigger more quickly, the chip logic and circuitry has modified to prevent quick battery fade keeping the voltage in the sweet spot of 3.85v - 4.2v longer. The cut-off times in some cases are double or quadruple that of Gen II batteries depending on which model V4L KR batt you get.
Generics have none of the modifications, while Gen II basically have a governor (regulator) so you start at 3.6Xv and end at 3.6Xv with a quick 5 or so second draw cut-off.
V4L Batts have a great selection of sharp colors
nun: no rubber coatings) and the paint jobs are quality. I have more batts then I can count and have yet to find one with a single blemish on the finish.
I do have a VV Mod, a Ferrari is you will, but I like cool vaping so I vape quite a few juices around 3.9 - 4.7v. I tell friends of mine that are moving up to Mods, "Just you wait, after a month of fun-time you'll be reaching for that KR808 again."
And in just about every circumstance that is exactly what happens. Why? Well, it just feels so damn good in your hands, it's light, looks cool, pocket friendly, and relatively inexpensive so losing it doesn't cost you $200.00.
I learned this lesson over a year ago which is why I keep my home at the V4L sub-forum. I guess I could hang out at Notcigs, Provape, or Electonixstix that would make a few wounded doves happy. But I have always respected the fact that V4L sells great KR batts.
They really strive to squeeze every bit of performance out of their KR808s. PT have mobility limitation, but hey 5v vaping on demand for $20.00..in the car or on the computer with no batteries and no charger, where do I sign up? The Short Batteries are simply a marvel and never seem to get the respect they so clearly deserve. They push the limit of everything for their size.
I do believe that all Vapors should celebrate their 3 month anniversary with a Mod. Just don't give away your KR's because you will be amazed at their "what am I reaching for?" value. Trust me you will still enjoy and even appreciate vaping them a little more.

Not sorry this was long....deal with it.
