so i got bored and i took a fully dried with burnt filling carto and ripped out the polyfill and tried to direct drip some drops and it worked very well, (not too surprising i know, remember im a noob) but it got me wondering what other cool things can i do with these cartos?

Thats about it...Have you looked into replacing the fill with blue foam? I haven't but I have read it makes the cartomizer significantly better.
My first kit was a v4l. That is a kr808d-1 cartomizer setup. My very first test with dripping was doing exactly what you did. My next step was to get an adapter for 510 atomizers. There really is no comparison. Using a real atty is much better. Since then I bought a few 510 batteries and have pretty much stopped using my kr808d-1 stuff altogether.
