Been vaping exclusive almost 6 months on a KR808 from SmokeTip. Now I am thinking about making the jump to a mod. Looked at the Chuck, Provari, etc... Sooo many I am confused and almost convinced to stick with the 808. I can get vape like no ones business out of my 808's and I am wondering if it is worth the investment? I still want something portable and casual for public use but not sure what would be a good choice or if it is really worth it?

Any advice/suggestions???

You can put 808 stuff on most any mod if you just use an adapter, I'm running 808 carto's and 901 atty's on my Silver Bullet, Omega, and boxmods. It would help to know what features are you looking for. Long lasting battery? Variable volt? Inexpensive batteries? Tube mod or box? Expensive or cheap? More vapor or throat hit? A little more info would help.

My bad , your right! OK, I want something portable, sleek looking but not weird to use in public. I am "comfortable" with the 808's and no nothing about atty's. I like the "techy" aspect of the Provari, but not sure its really necessary (cool though). I want something SOLID BUILT. I've seen some that look like they may break in my pocket. I think, if I am right, that ones using the AW???? type batts you can buy at any store is nice so as not to get caught with a dead batt and no charger.

Initial expense for the unit is not a "big" concern. But more of a concern is the expense of operating the unit, ie: carts, attys, batts, etc... I drip on the 808's and am just getting started mixing flavors. So disappointed it took me this long to get away from flavored carts.

Back to your list of questions: Long lasting battery=yes, Variable volt=sounds nice but no experience with it, Inexpensive batteries=of course, Tube or box=definitely TUBE, Expensive or cheap=cost of unit(dont care) cost to operate(cheapest possible), Vapor or throat hit=I think vapor? I am finding different juice changes my TH? (Does that sound right?)

I over think and research everything, so I am looking for the BEST BANG for my BUCK.

It will cost you 70$, but the IGO from NHaler • Smoking Alternatives rocks out. 808's work great on it, and the large 3ml carto's that come with it hit like a tank. The cartos are great, but I've heard of folks having a bad one here and there. But it seems like the owner of the company is taking care of problems. I have not had any problems yet, other than the black paint one the battery chips off easily. SO i would suggest the chrome or stainless finish. All in all it's a great device. Lol, the hits are massive for most of the day on one fill. Give it a look, and there are some reviews on youtube as well.

BTW: Thanks for the heads up on the Black paint.

Maybe you could try one of the 808 style fat batts.I think they have a GoGo,or an elegant, and theres another one I think. You wwill get longer batt life and they arent too big.

Are these auto or manual? I think I would go manual just cause I hear thats the thing to do...lol Any opinion on that?

Cool deal. If you get one, you'll laugh at the faces people make when they try and give it a go lol. The damn thing puts out a crazy amount of vapor IMMEDIATELY! You'll like it. Just to let you know though, there are several other devices of this type floating around out there. I haven't used them, but there are plenty of people saying great things about them. The GOGO being one of them. Not sure about all the ins and outs of that device, but I'm pretty sure it's quite a bit cheaper. So if money is an issue, it would prob be worth checking out as well. Hell, I think that link I gave you has them too.

For a tube, look at the GLVs.I love mine and use them with 808s.

I looked at those and saw a review where it appeared the cart was kinda wobbly on it? That is one I thought the cart might break off in my pocket. Do you have any problems like that? I really like the design but got turned off when I saw that. Let me know, I am really curious!

2 Year transferable warranty on mod, 1 year on battery comes with it.

Anodized aluminum chassis with ceramic coating finish.

Swing arm for a wide variety of options in holding/using/setting down the unit.

Superb Customer Service from Evolv and affiliates (Nhaler).

Here's a Youtube walkthrough.

I still want something portable and casual for public use

I'm actually interested in a 5v wooden box, bottom feeder myself. Just can't justify spending the money on it now, after I've got so much invested in my Bloog and Janty (and they both work wonderfully too).

But I don't think any mods would be "casual for public use". If anything, I'd say keep the mod at home and in the car. Keep the 808 you currently have for public. People are less likely to give you the evil eye of ignorance if you walk around with a giant pipe or box sticking out of your mouth. At least 808's conform to what most people think a cig/e-cig should look like.

My first mod after V4L was the GLV, both the 5V and the mini -- they were great, durable, and portable, you wouldn't go wrong getting one of them!!!:)

I told keyzgirl I saw a review and looked like where the cart screws on was kind wobbly? Is it? Sounds like it may be a really good choice if not cause I like the style!

You're right, and I have 6 808's so I am not worried about backup. I just want a mod that I "could use" in public and not feel like people are taking off with their children to hide for safety...LOL

Thank you everyone for all the GREAT advice and suggestions!!!! OK, I have had sometime to do my research and I think I have narrowed it down to the iGo from Nhaler and the GLV2!!!

I am convinced that either one would give me the amount and quality of vaping I am looking for. GLV is a little more expensive but the initial cost of the unit is not a deciding factor. What is important is the quality and style and convenience of the PV.

I like the design, style and convenience of the iGo. However, I don't see many reviews on the iGo and can only assume it is very new. I see you get 2 units and the batt life seems to last a day or 2 but the review I saw on youtube showed a difference in the buttons between the 2 units this particular individual received. One button being more recessed than the other. That would bug me as if I had a matching pair I would want them to be identical so as not to favor one over the other. I also don't see any warranty info regarding the iGo (not to say it's not there, I just don't see it)

I really like the GLV2 in every category that is important to me. I like the fact it is just one unit and I can switch out batteries. Thank you keyzgirl for your response to my question about the connection as that has eased my mind on that.

The question I have now is how does the battery system for this GLV work? Do I keep a pair of batts on a charger and 2 in the unit? Most importantly, if my batts run out and I have no access to my back ups, can I go to any store that sells batteries and buy a pair that will work??? Can I buy rechargeable ones there??? In case of emergency I think that would be a huge piece of mind knowing I can go down the road, get some batts and keep on vaping!! Please let me know if this is the case and it will make my decision a lot easier!

Thank you.....
