KR808D or general cartomizer question

Well, I got a KR808D1 kit and some cartomizers for my first PV. Great price and fast shipping from CigEasy. Pretty cool, it really does kill the craving. I went from a pack a day to about 3-5 a day, which is awesome and pretty much exactly what I wanted this product to do for me, for now. :)

So, I have a couple of questions for the veterans that check this section. I have now had the nasty experience of burning up 3 of the 4 cartomizers I've used. The nasty burnt taste comes on very slowly, seemingly over like 20 or 30 drags, and because of that, it's hard to know when I've started to burn it.

So for all cartomizer users reading this, how often do you fill your carts, and how many times can you fill em on average before they burn up or the atomizer goes bad? Do I have to fill them several times a day or what? It's hard to know when they're 'full' or nearly dry, and I always overfilled my Zippos, so I'm afraid of over-doing it. Guess I'll figure that part out eventually.

Just a few more quick questions, especially for those of you with my batteries: How many non-DOA batteries have you gone through, what was the problem, (died, charge died quickly, poor power output) and how much use did they give you before exibiting the problem/dying?

Thanks a ton for any info or advice..!!

Haven't really had any battery misfortunes: mine usually last for 1-3 hours then need a recharge.

Cartomizers are good for 5 to 10 refills. You have to watch out for letting them get too hot for too long. If you are a heavy vaper then keep a couple on hand and swap them out, or just hold it in your hand for a few seconds between vapes. This will reduce the burning.

How long they last per use is just entirely dependant upon whether you are puffing on it a bit through the day, or sitting there and vaping on it non stop. It is really ahrd to say. But it should be good for way more than 30 drags!!

Do a search on here for how to refill your cartomizer. Several good howto videos. Or even search on youtube.

Take care,
- Hap

Thanks for the response, it was quite helpful. :)

My battery question was actually about how long they last before they become unusable due to failing / holding such a poor charge they're nearly unusable / putting out so little power they're nearly unusable. In other words, how many charges should I expect to get from a PV battery like mine before I have to buy a new one to replace it because of these issues?

Thanks for any more insight or advice! :D

I have batteries that are still working since April and others that are just recently started giving me trouble (the led lights stay lit continiously and wont take a charge). The bad batts are about 4 months old. As far as refilling, I put 1-2 drops in after every 10 or so drags. I can make a cart last for over a week. When it starts tasting bad, I open it up, run water through it, let it dry and keep using with no burnt taste. I have not yet "killed" a cartomizer.

I replug mine at the first sign of a burnt taste, and set them aside to refill later. It took me a few to get it figured out and I had to toss some because they got "overdone" but now I have it down. I plan on refilling once or twice, then recapping and putting them in a coffee can in case (God forbid) the FDA gets testy. I have tons of juice from Nhalers and V4L so that should hold me nicely in case the US decides to revisit Prohibition... :p
