I did a four wrap dual coil using 26ga, it came in at .5 ohms. I'm using stainless cable for wick with mesh under the coils. It chucks a decent amount vapor. You could also try a similar build with cotton or "auto drip" setup. I haven't tried cotton on this atty yet......but I probably should just for the hell of it. Or you could try ribbon wire, again haven't tried it yet. Just a few ideas.

You are somewhat limited on what types of builds can be done when using a genny with mesh. You can play with different types of wire, but unless you want to switch to cotton and turn it into an autodripper you're pretty much stuck with a standard vertical coil build.

For a basic cloud setup on the Kraken I'd suggest 6 wraps of 26g Kanthal around 1/16th cable wicks with mesh hats. In dual configuration this should get you about .30 ohm and will throw vapor like crazy. Make sure you are using Sony VTC3, 4s, 5s, LG Hybrids, Purple Efests, etc if you go that low.

Honestly, the Kraken is a great atty, but I'd look elsewhere for true cloud chasing.. Even though the Kraken has adjustable airflow at it's most open setting it's still tighter than a cloud chasing rig should have.

Kraken is one of the best genesis atomizers from what I have seen if you are looking for clouds. Most all genesis atomizers are not built for clouds. Not even the kraken like someone stated above. You can change that though buy getting out a drill. I chopped and drilled 2 krakens. Just drill out the sleeve with a bit that just fits through the center of the inner sleeve triangle. Fasttech has some tungsten bits on their site that are great for starting the hole since the kraken more so has a slit instead of a hole. I have one with a single 1 ohm coil and one setup at .22ohms. Both I used stainless cable and mesh. Seems everyone wants to say you can't get big clouds off of genesis atomizers it isn't as easy but you can get pretty big clouds off of them. I will be tweaking mine further to try.

woot! sideways and shrank to where u can't see the coils. 3 wire twisted 30 or 32gauge 5 wraps. Sorry, I guess I need to re-save my phone pictures before posting.

With genesis style atomizers, unique coils arent as practical, as you need ot make the coil just right. Too productive, you'll get dry hits. not enough, and the coil wont heat enough and give a poor vape.

before I broke my kraken, I ran duals with 7 wraps of 0.7x0.1 ribbon, and it was at 0.74 ohms. Vaped liek a champ, it worked wonderful for mouth hits, but could chase the clouds if I desired. draw was perfect too.

I'm going to be trying a Aquilo 22 Windrose here when it arrives from fasttech, but til then I'll be short on genesis mods =(

400 mesh works fine on my low ohm builds but it is with stainless cable and I only use 1 layer. It didn't work very well with 2 layers. I usually use 100 percent vg or close to it. To me the way the kraken is setup at .22 works well. I wasn't shooting for .22 ohm when I built it I was hoping for more like a .3. I still use my other at 1 ohm. I guess I like the low ohm because a 2-3 second hit is a nice big hit. My 1 ohm seems I have to suck on 5-6 second for a similar hit. There really wasn't a big difference between a .22ohm build and a .4ohm before I drilled out the kraken's air holes (besides the heat build up). I usually swap batteries a lot but it is more for safety. I even do it with the 1ohm.

The guy at the vape shop uses 200 mesh if he is using mesh in a dripper or for something like a veritas or origen where the wicks are short. He said going below .4 on stainless wasn't worth it ....but I also haven't seen him with anything with any comparable airflow. I really haven't played with the different meshes to figure out what really is better. I need to just sucks to take apart a perfectly good build.

I got my copper aquilo last Friday. I haven't had a chance to build it yet though. I had planned to use cable in it and been to lazy to cut some =P. Seems the well holes in it are bigger than the kraken. I might just try doing mesh only since it has that juice holding shelf in the tank just haven't made up my mind. The Aquilo looks like it is going to be tuff to make bigger air holes in and not ruin the look of it, hopefully my dremel skills will allow me to keep it looking good. I was surprised the Aquilo is my first genny that came with stainless cable in the package. It looks different than the stainless cable I have ......making me think it isn't 316.

Anyone tried any of the thicker stainless cable? I would think it would be even better at wicking juice up.

Drilled Kraken wick holes and fill holes to 5/64ths ...I think it was 5/64ths. Which allows for use of 1/8th inch stainless cable in 2 different configurations and also allow for easier filling with droppers (also allows for faster spilling if you knock it over). With 1/8th inch cable, 4 wrap 28gauge parallel coils, on one layer of 200 mesh @.2 ohms. I also made the wicks as long as possible allowing for overhead juice retention. Actually a little too long =/ some drip tips can tough the tops. It makes huge clouds and I haven't had any burnt hits. I think slightly more air flow would produce more cloud and may not affect flavor. @ .22 ohms even at a tilt on 1/16th cable long hits sometimes ended up in burnt hits. People say genesis aren't for clouds =P. More air flow thicker stainless cable, and the right coils seem to work great to me.

Forget dripping .....even for clouds.
