First of all, that box looks great! It's onvious that you did an amazing job painting it. Have you banged it around to test for durability? That would be my 1st concern. Have you looked into airbrushing, maybe?

I'm not sure if I'd pay $20 for the colors. I am sure some would. I realize your time spent on these is important, and you need to be paid for it, but it'll still be a plastic box, no offense. On the other hand, no one else is doing anything like this, so it is unique.

I'm looking forward to seeing what others have to say.

Yeah I'm quickly noticing why people are just doing the stretch on vinyl stuff. It seems to hold up pretty well it will scratch and scuff just like any paint I would think.

It looks great but I'm with you on I don't see it being a main attraction.

Doesn't airbrushing cost a lot to do? I don't really know anything about it.

I used to do airbrushing to restore damaged photographs. I went to Rhode Island School of Design to learn. You need a small air compressor and a good airbrush. I used to use water based acrylic paint in the airbrush cup, then spray with an acrylic sealer like Krylon. I don't even know if the technique is applicable here or not. It was just a thought.

You can airbrush within stencils or airbrush entire areas. It would allow lots of room for personalization. If they can airbrush license plates, why not mods? You just need to learn to airbrush...

I know you make the best boxmods, wink, but I know you're looking for something to make them unique at a reasonable cost.

Payment sent early this morning. 3xAA Evercool black on black w/display. I requested the metal thumb wheel, I think they look cool. I've been using Madvapes 5v boxes, a very good product for a low price but I'm looking forward to variable voltage. I can't wait to slap a MAP tank on this thing and I'll probably have to get a DCT for it. Now would you folks leave him alone so he can work on my mod?!?! Just kiddin'...

Been reading nothing but good things about his mods. I had to build my 5v boxes but VV and a display? That's more than I could handle. Kudos to James. 060911_2343[00].jpg

Oh, and Evercool was a must have for me.
You will be glad that you got your VV boxmod here!

What is chameleon paint please?

It's a beautiful paint used on cars that changes color depending on what angle you view it at:) It usually goes from teal to purple to blue, then green, it's awesome:) As the car drives by you it changes color:)

Chameleon paint is actually a multi-layer painting process that takes a couple coats of black or dark purple, then a chameleon green that's transparent then several clear coats shot from different angles. There is a reason it's expensive to do on cars :p

It could be done, but it would take a very long time and I think it might be slightly more expensive than would be worth it. I will see if there is an easier way I don't know of and get back to you.
