I received my Variable Voltage Evercool 18650 box mod from Krimson Kustoms on Monday and have been using it for a couple of days. My initial impression is that it is very solid. Very well built. It fits my hand perfectly. It is definitely slick and stylish looking.
The blue transparent box is very durable and it houses 2 18650 batteries. With that being said, if you drop it on the floor, it will be gone. It has an Evercool VV engine and it metered on the Voltmeter from 3.3v to 6.1v on freshly charged batteries. The voltage can be easily changed using the dial below the firing button. No screwdriver is required. The position of the dial is close to the button and I have pressed it accidentally a few times but once I got used to it, it didn't happen again.
There is no rattling in the box and everything is nicely tuck away. It is jammed pack but no hot glue mess. I requested a blue LED and it nicely illuminates all the internal component beautifully. The lid comes with 4 screws to secure it to the box but I haven't been using them as it has snapped on and stayed on so I didn't bother with the screws.
I have used it with a DC carto in a Cartomator tank. The vapor production is good. But it really shines with an IKV 801 Fusion (3.0 ohm). Plumes of vapor and amazing tastes. It hits hard at 4.5v. I am very happy with the performance.
The batteries fit tight and do need some instructions from James. I put the right one in negative first then click it in and the left just goes in straight on, it fits pretty well. They are marked with + and - so there's no confusion.
Communication is great from James. He is the modder. I get updates from him as he is building it and asks questions to make sure that everything is properly built to my specs.
Overall I give it a 2 thumbs up
. It does suck up some power using the DC but not the Fusion. It has been lasting me more than a day. Of course, YMMV as always. No problem with chain-vaping and it fires everytime.
