Has anybody had any problems with the kts storm today mine mod got so hot that the e-liquid was boiling and the 18650 battery burnt out and scroched the inside of the tube

I'm picking up my Storm tomorrow. Yes, sometimes people have a bit of trouble with the contacts in these mods heating up. Your quote "the e-liquid was boiling" is quite interesting. This does not jive with any issues I've ever heard about with this mod. Hopefully you did not get hurt. I would appreciate hearing more details :2cool:

Sounds like:
Dead Shorted coil(should have popped)
Dead Shorted switch(should have noticed the Atty firing constantly)
Bad switch - should have felt heat long before battery failure
Defective Battery - over drained and internally shorted - Replace

Should only be using AW IMR or Hybrid Batteries in a Mechanical. 2 cent fuse might be a good idea also.

I have 4 KTS storm (CCTS) and no issues with any

I dont know where else to put this. Is a question regarding this particular mod(KTS Storm). I have mine in the mail. After i bought it i saw that the Gus is a nice quality mod for 100 but i ordered already. The gus has a workaround to work exactly as a caravela and that is remove the spring and put instead the copper pin from the caravela and it performs just like one. My question is for you guys that have this mod. Can you change the spring to copper conductivity and so and that way there wouldnt be a voltage drop and it will perform with that raw power of a high end device without the cost. Because im a college student and i have no money to spend $250+ on a mod. Let me know experts from ecf. Btw i have a smoktech telescope and i though as being my first mechanical that it would perform as any other. Later i found out the parts/conductivity etc.

No im still waiting for it. But read somwhere that the firing button gets hot and the connection isnt even brass and that the 100% conductivity is in the copper pins mods and i thought that if the gus has a voltage output of 3.098v instead of the caravela that has 3.75v and the gus is better quality than the kts i assumed that voltage drop would happen. Do you know if you can change the contacts? Btw have you checked with a multimeter the voltage output of the kts?

I did check with a meter. Now i mayyy be measuring it incorrectly (i measure between the center positive pin and the outer rim of the 510 connection) but i have close to zero voltage drop on all 3 of my mods, all of which are China clones (Adam clone, the Storm which is a GG clone, and a Gus clone). I did, however, have a tremendous drop on the Sigelei 13 without modification, so i think im measuring it right.

If the firing button gets hot, sand the button contact pin where its naking contact with the bottom cap post. I sand all of mine, wipe clean with a wet towel and polish with polishing cloth, and never had the hot button problem again even with chain vaping,

Thank you For that tip. But the voltage you have to measure it under load that means with the atomizer attached. Put the aga on your kts and measure it like that put the positive on positive post and negative on negative and hit the fire button. Now you will see the real voltage. At least the hot button is not a problem anymore. Still have to check if the contacts are replaceable

Well, if you measure it like that then you dont have a controlled environment, meaning if you have a drop it may not be the mods fault and actually the attys fault.

However, i did something similar, i put my AGA on my VAMO, fired it at 3.7V, meter the AGA, then put it on my mods, put in a battery measured at 3.7V, fire and meter the AGA again. I got the same number. Thus, i can conclude that the mod has no voltage drop.

And to be honest, even if there is a drop, if its performance satisfies you, then it doesnt matter. So dont let it get to you.
