KTS Telescopic Storm

I recently purchased a KTS and I love it. It's performing better than I expected. However, I noticed that it's been marking/damaging the flat side of my 18650 battery. It's not even that tight when I try to "telescope" it. Is there anyway to prevent this? I attached a picture of the battery.

You could check to see if there is a burr on the spring. If so, just sand it off. Mine has scratched my batteries there a little, but nothing I wouldn't expect from an non-lubricated metal on metal connection.

Fairly common marking. Any time one part is turning against a stationary part wear can occur.

Yes but it almost looks like its denting it. Is this also normal?

If it looks likt you are denting it, You are tightening to far. I have seen bottom fire units tightened to the point of engaging the switch,

Could also be an illusion from the marking. Lay a straight edge across and look for any gap.
