I've recently purchased the KTS as a beginner mech.
And i've been looking through various mah batteries and this seems to be a monster (yea i know it's unprotected).

So could I use a kick for a Panasonic NCR15650B 3400mah without the fear of it exploding in my pocket?.

Also would this be a good setup to use with sub ohm rba coils?.

Thanks in advance.

I am no battery expert, but from what I gather it will work with a kick just like the Panasonic CGR18650CH.

If I were you I would get on google and do a little research.

Again, if you want to start wrapping sub ohm coils you need to make sure you have quality batteries. Sub ohm coils put a lot of strain on your batteries and aren't the safest thing to play around with.

A kick defeats the point of a mech, imho, but either way i don't believe a kick can handle the amount of current that runs through a sub ohm circuit. a 2 cents for safety fuse might be able to handle it but I'm not sure what its amp limit is. use quality IMR batteries and a healthy respect for the possible dangers of a subohm setup and you should be okay.

Mechanical and unregulated mods were around way before we started doing SLR. SLR is only one aspect of a mechanical mod, not the whole enchilada.

But anyway, you will be fine. You want to use IMR with any type of regulated mod, whether it be a Vamo, eVic, Provari, or a Kick. IMR can handle a higher current draw than the protected counterparts.

On top of that, the Kick gives you all the protection circuitry a normal regulated mod does (such as short-circuit protection) so you don't need a protected battery.

You will be fine.

EDIT: For the record, I have successfully run a 0.9 ohm (measured) AGA-T+ on my Kick with no issues to regulate the voltage down for a wicking issue I was having. I have tested the short circuit protection with a dead short afterwards (as I was concerned) and again no issues. As it turns out, the Kick is better than any standard regulated mod I have tried in this respect (including the Provari).
