L Rider Lambo, which batteries?.

I recently purchased a Lambo (chrome Lavatube) by L rider. It came with two no name red 18650 batteries. I want to buy two good batteries. I have been reading all available information . Some say that using IMR safe chemistry batteries is the only good option. I live in the Czech Republic and my vendor advises these batteries: Baterie 18650 Panasonic 3100 mAh - www.ecigareta-shop.cz. These are unprotected so I asked him if they weren't dangerous. He answered that these batteries are very stable and were very unlikely to explode or suchlike because the Lambo has all necessary built in protection. He also said that IMR batteiries always have a low capacity and that these unprotected high capacity were the only possibility if I wanted batteries with a capacity over 2200 mah. What do you guys think?

Some of the same people will tell you that its okay to use stacked batteries in your mod. That's a personal choice and for me personally Id rather err on the side of caution and deal with a little less battery life and not have to worry about the thing blowing up in my face.

Wasnt a reaction.I'm just a cautious person and dont like taking what I feel are unnecessary chances.Like I said its up to you but Id rather spend more money and have a little more peace of mind.

It's kinda like getting drunk and then deciding to drive.Im sure I could probably make it home without getting stopped by the police or killing myself or someone else but it just makes more sense to call a cab.Whats a 30 dollar cab ride home versus someones life or the estimated 8k dollars for a DUI?

I think he's talking nonsense. An IMR 2000mah is not low capacity. What do you need over 2200mah for in a lambo?? AW IMR are good batts but he doesn't seem to have those.

They are probably Sanyo IMR re-wrapped. I've used (and like) Panasonic batteries, just not those ones. The "NCR18650A - Protection ICs" work really well and have a 8.5amp max discharge. Also the Panasonic CGR18650CH IMR Hybrids work great but currently only available in 2250mAh. They are a 10amp discharge rated battery like the AW IMRs. (AW IMR batts are good too...)

Just for info, IMR "High Drain" batteries are made from what's called "safe chemistry" so that if they direct short they get pretty hot and release gases but don't catch fire. Unprotected Li Ion batteries can have really dangerous events and IMHO are an unnecessary risk.
