- I briefly searched for this issue and didn't find it so here goes:

  • I'm getting quite a few new cartos with the labels applied over the intake holes, that is, too far towards the battery side of the carto.
  • This sometimes blocks the operation of the PV so then I:
    • Cut the label all the way around, about 1/16 inch up from the battery edge of the carto.
    • Or if I am not around an exacto blade, I either:
      • use my fingernail to clear the air holes or
      • slightly unscrew the carto, enough to provide air while still allowing the battery to make contact with the atty, and vape with it slightly unscrewed.
  • Here is a photo, which I plan to send to V4L Customer Service.

As I said in the first post, I contacted customer service via email:

Customer Service:

Attached shows a quality issue I want to bring to V4L's attention. Perhaps 20% of my recent cartomizers purchased lately have this problem.

Here's my post from www.e-cigarette-forum.com:

* I'm getting quite a few new cartos with the labels applied over the intake holes, that is, too far towards the battery side of the carto.
* This sometimes blocks the operation of the PV so then I:
o Cut the label all the way around, about 1/16 inch up from the battery edge of the carto.
o Or if I am not around an exacto blade, I either:
+ use my fingernail to clear the air holes or
+ slightly unscrew the carto, enough to provide air while still allowing the battery to make contact with the atty, and vape with it slightly unscrewed.

It's a minor problem, but still an annoyance.

Thanks for listening and hopefully fixing this,
V4L Customer

I know I've seen this many times over the last eight months, as far as posts go. Because I'm in a "teaching a man to fish mode" the last few days, and because you mention having searched and not found anything appropriate:

Go to: http://www.google.com
Search strategy: site:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life +label +covering

Results: 17 threads.

First thread excerpt: "Hard draw can be lots of things, obstructions in or on the air hols on the batt, (like the label covering up the holes in the carto as well)"

Second thread: not appropriate

Third thread: "I just took some nail clippers and clipped off the label that was covering the 4 air vents. Works great now."

Most appropriately titled thread: "Leaford, QC concern." excerpt from one post: "The label is placed wrong and covering the slots. Flavor is way off too. ... I am aware of the label problem, this isn't it! ..."

Most similar titled: "Defective Cartomizer.. Anyone else experience?" excerpt: "... those that wouldn't draw and I noticed when the label was applied, ... Parlament cartomizers covering the air holes on the battery end, ..."

This was just my first search strategy. I'm sure the interested reader could drill-down still further and come up with more threads, I know I remember more than that in the last eight months...

Well these cartomizers are new so the issue needs this repeated attention/visibility. But thanks for the lesson!;)

Unfortunately this is a problem that will likely continue to come up, repeatedly. Though I have had nearly zero problems with this, had you read some of Leaford's posts on this subject you'll find that the labels are affixed by hand. It's difficult to do thousands of those by hand and get it 100% correct 100% of the time.

The manufacturer is unlikely to get automated any time soon. Human error is bound to continue.

I'm glad I saw this. I had no idea there even were holes there. (I know, I know--where WOULD the air be coming from??? I don't know, but I just didn't realize.) This may solve issues with several carts I have.

A new learning curve here--about #721 or so I think, LOL or so it seems, since I started vaping...

I knew it'd help someone! :glare::rolleyes::2cool:
