I've found myself a bit disappointed by almost all of my juices. Generally the first few puffs are great, than the flavor degrades until I barely get any taste. Most of my collection is MBV juices, my favorite being Ecto Cooler. I ordered a 30mL bottle with 2 extra flavor shots (50/50) hoping that would help out but I'm still losing the flavor the same way. I've been super impressed with Goodejuice's Full Throttle, which does not seem to lose any flavor.

I've read this is common and that I need to mix up the flavors often. This does help, I've been carrying 2 tanks (Full Throttle and Ecto Cooler) and swapping out throughout the day.

I've also read that this is a sort of symptom of quitting analogs. I'm about 5 days since my last analog. Is it possible that this issue will go away the further I get away from smoking?

Truth be told, I'm a dork for really enjoying flavors. I'm a beer and tea dork and really love developing my palate to really understand what I'm drinking. I'd really love to get that same enjoyment of building a palate and learning about flavors with e-cigs. If I can develop that sort of hobby level with e-cigs, I know I'll be free of analogs easily!

Cheers, thanks for the help!

its one of two things or both.

vaper tounge which is what i deal with, losing the taste of a juice when vaped for a period of time. your taste buds will go numb to the same taste naturally when over exposed to it. easiest way for me is to have flavor changes periodically. I have a morning vape, lunch time vape, after work vape, and before bed vape rotation.

the other is you taste buds are currently healing from the damage they incurred while smoking. as they heal you will notice that foods taste better, you can also notice a increase to smelling.

Oh dear God did this ever happen to me!
I fell madly in love with a super-sour flavor, Ruby Red Grapefruit. And I lost my inability to taste anything else. I was cleaning all my clearos and seriously thinking this wasn't going to work for me...
So I went on a "diet," and went to a menthol flavor instead. I was able to taste THAT. Used it before bed and when I got up this morning. A little later, I sampled a few flavors ( berry and candycane coffee), and miracle of miracles, they all had flavor and tasted the way they were supposed to! So weird!
So don't get hooked into one flavor.

Sounds like vapors toungue. Taste buds go haywire for a bit after quitting cigarettes. I switch my flavors through the day, and this keeps me happy.

Maybe that's why I have this impulse to load up 3-4 tanks with different flavors.

So at any given moment, I pretty much choose which one I'm going to reach for :)

Thanks everyone for describing what this vapors tongue thing is... heard the term, but not really any good descriptions - until now.

It took a week or a little longer before my taste buds started to come back. no cigs for about six weeks now and I find I am still getting my sense of taste and smell back. It seemed way better after the first 10 days but I find I am still finding normal everyday things in food and spices that are tasting different/better/worse/sweeter/more bitter...

30 years of smoking did a lot of damage to my palette it seems.

Make sure you are really drinking enough water also. Vaping dries me out!

Five days in, you're definitely suffering from some healing effects. You'll find that your newfound taste ability will be both more sensitive/accurate and more fickle. Learning to deal with its peccadilloes will also help with your other taste connoisseur hobbies.

Love your name, BTW - huge Hitchhiker's fan.

I can tell you a little of my experience with this problem. I've been off analogs for well over a year now. So smoking affects are well passed. But I did make a mistake, one that sounded a little like you vapeing the same two favorites. I had two favorite flavors, Bobas, and cheesecake. Couldn't be more different. I liked them both so much I went overboard. I ended up buying both by huge bottles and vapeing both exclusively. I got to the point were I no longer tasted either. Even with switching them through out the day. So I tried flavors I never used before. I've found I enjoy fruit vapes. I ordered a large variety of different fruits. My sense of taste of all juices has been restored! Even for my Bobas and cheesecake. Variety and lots of it is the key. IMO anyway. I do the same as someone else posted, one for evening, morning, during work, after etc. Shake it up, a lot! Hope this helps!

at only 5 days away from the smoke particles and tar, you tastebuds are still changing alot; it will probably seem to keep changing for months I think.

As several people suggested it does seem to be common to rotate several flavors during the day; I can see myself carrying 4 to 6 small tanks with me with different flavors; although right now I'm going through a rough patch trying to use up some of those bottles I never liked before they get a year old.

Been vaping for 3yrs now!! Yeah. I have had this happen a few times to me. I have had it last a day and up to a week or more. What seems to work for me is some spicy food, the kind that makes your nose run, and with me hiccups! :) Nothing crazy like the ghost pepper challenge. That seems to wake up my taste buds. Make sure to drink plenty of water, especially if you are vaping a lot. I usually go through about 3-5mls a day and probably drink close to 1/2 gallon to a gallon of water a day, or at least try to.

I now carry 3 tanks with different flavors with me and switch it up all day, just like the rest. Hang in there, quitting does different things to everyone, so there really is no right answer for you. Don't give up is the biggest thing.
