I don't feel comfortable showing some stranger my tattoos. They are personal. If you are interested in seeing tattoos, go to a shop. They have books of them you can look at, as well as someone to talk to you about personal designs.
Plenty of people have tattoos on parts of their bodies which are visible in any real world encounters. This would indicate that they do not consider those specific tattoos too personal to share with strangers. I assume the invitation was for people to share pictures of those tattoos, not to pry into people's privacy.

I, however, have tattoos neither on visible nor on discreet areas of my body. Even if I were tempted, I can't think of any image I wouldn't get thoroughly sick of over time.

And I maintain that a stranger on the internet asking for pictures of a female is still uncomfortable to me. And I didn't state where my tattoo(s) is/are, or whether or not it/ they are plainly visible in any real world encounter. I am not sending some perv pictures of my tattoo whether it be on my forehead or any other part of my body. And if they op is not a perv, well, how would I know as we are strangers on the internet?

When I asked them why, they stated they were interested in seeing pictures. I advised them to go to a tattoo shop and look at pictures which I maintain is the proper way to look at pictures of stranger's tattoos and NOT to ask on a public forum.

There have been a few tattoo threads on the forum, for those who are comfortable sharing. Not everyone is.

Though it's just us ladies posting in here, the threads are open to the forum and searchable on google, so it doesn't hurt to be wary about what you share.

(I don't have any, not good with the idea of pain)

If I had any tattoos, which I don't, I wouldn't mind posting a picture of JUST the tattoo. It would have to be taken in a way that not only doesn't show my face, but doesn't even let anyone figure out what part of my body it's on, LOL. If I wanted a tattoo, I think I'd probably want to see some pictures without walking into a tattoo parlor. But I bet if you searched "women's tattoos" or something similar on Google images (or whatever your preferred search engine is) you'd get plenty of pictures.

Sorry, didn't want to offend anyone. I can understand the not wanting to show strangers stuff. I've even been hesitant to show my vaping gear, and even my hands holding my gear. I just know there's plenty of people who do show off their tattoos online. I was just feeling super depressed and needed something to distract me and thought I could get some easy cheering up here. Sorry, still new here and learning the ropes.

I don't understand the PG regulations on this site, when smoking and vaping must be restricted to those 18 years or older in most places. Though I'm sure this has been brought up plenty already here.

Thanks for the links, Classwife.

flarg, if you've ever visited some of the other vaping forums that don't have PG regulations, you'd understand. Being 18 doesn't automatically make people mature and there's a lot of swearing because they can and, all too often, that affects the mood -- being nasty for the "fun" of it, bullying noobs, etc. Also, there are people who, even if they are adults, are offended by language and skin.

Every once in a while I do want to say things that require swearing or want to post things that wouldn't pass the test, but I'm willing to censor myself occasional in order to have a pleasant place to hang and talk about vaping and to nice, fellow vapors. (Plus it still tickles me that you have to refer to The Richard Van .... Show if you don't want the automatic censor to change it to The .... Van .... Show.)

Even with the PG rules, I've still encountered some unnecessary hostility or just plain negativity. Though, at the same time and happily for the most part, I have also found some incredibly surprising friendliness and helpfulness, so for those I am greatly appreciative. It's just that one in 100 posts that might feel personally directed as hostile or unfriendly or what-have-you that can really put a damper on one's spirits. And when you can't have spirits, well, I don't know. I like how there's no photos in this thread as of yet, but I do honestly just like the solitary chit chat (as opposed to a giant long thread that's years old and goes anywhere and everywhere and you can't go much in depth). But those silly long threads are indeed nice. I like 'em a lot. Except when someone doesn't like what I post and gets mad and that makes me sad when all I want to do is make people happy and like me.

I think its hard to show emotions when typing, and you mentioned I was being hostile somewhere else. I apologize if you felt that way, but I had a joke in my post as the last line that was supposed to make you smile. Sorry you missed that. I am glad someone was able to give you a reference to a thread that you can look at. I guess I am just paranoid and wouldn't want to post pictures of my body here. Well, maybe my hand holding my PV would be okay :toast:

Don't sweat it, flarg. You've done nothing offensive and I'll be happy to show you my 2 tattoos later. I'm still working and don't have any pictures available at the moment. I'm proud to show off my one tattoo because it's for my grandmothers and the other one was my first and is pretty, but I only got it because I like roses. They're totally PG (foot and upper back), so no biggie.

A little later than anticipated, but you go :). My bf was WAY too close when taking the picture for my back tattoo and the camera works a little too well, so ignore the closeness :).

Aww. So purdy, Ambeck. :)
I want some Keith Harring designs, and maybe some Matisse, Miro, Picasso, and who knows what.
I also want to get stuff that sorta blurs the conventional 2D art of tattoo, where lines are lines and colors filled in and it's all relatively flat. I'm thinking like the various layers screenprinting can give, especially when just slightly off, and sorta collage-like/mixed media. So, maybe there will be some pieces of newspaper in there.
In one of those older tattoo threads someone mentioned about how they were going to get a tattoo once they slimmed down some but instead they were expanding, and besides my indecisiveness with what designs where, my weight gain has negatively impacted any tattoo pursuits. :-( Well, can't be too sad about that for now, since I've wasted all my fun money on becoming a new vaper anyway, so it goes. :p
