I'm reading John Grisham's The Chamber, about a man trying to save his grandfather from the death penalty after what was supposed to be a "just threatening" bombing of a Jewish lawyers office. However, the bomb went off 7 hours later than it should of, resulting in the death of two children, and major injuries for the lawyer. A difficult book to read, but good for those questioning their beliefs on capitol punishment.

On a much lighter note, also re-reading The Harry Potter series.

I adore reading. I've been dead set against a Kindle for years, because I love the feel of books, love the library. We bought one for my daughter for Christmas two years ago and she loves it. So I dropped hints for Mother's day that I'd like one (yep I broke down)!

I really like reading books that take place near the ocean, I don't know why? I am not a sci-fi, blood and gore reader. I like Danielle Steele and authors like her. I just finished a book called "Barefoot Summer" by Susan Mallery. It was pretty good, a little over done in parts, but over all a good story. Last night I start reading "The Vow" - true story (does not take place by an ocean) and I can't wait to finish it and rent the movie!

The Dresden files... possibly the best SciFi I've ever read. Completely addictive. I read everything written to date in about 3 weeks. I'm not sure when I slept or how I managed to get to / from work but I did. If you ever watched the SYFY show ignore it. SYFY completely botched the entire show.

Seriously, one of the best series I've ever read and if I'm awake I'm reading something :)

I keep hoping that more of the Dresden files stories come out! Jim Butcher also wrote the Codex series, but while good, they're still more traditional. I've read a few of them.

I like David Eddings too.

i think what i liked from both Eddings and Butcher is the humor embedded in the stories- they're not comical, but the there is humor.

The next book in the Dresden series is due this fall!!! WOOTIE! I just started rereading the entire series because I read them so quickly the first time. I want to read the codex series too but I'm afraid I'll do what I did with the Dresden series.

So true it was absolutely the humor that I completely love about that series. Not to mention that he's a smart ... and I just can't help but identify with that!

I'll have to check out David Eddings. Thanks much for the recommend!

Hey, was anyone a fan of Jean Auel's "Clan" series? I didn't even know the last one came out!?!? Each one usually takes her YEARS to write, so I wasn't expecting it so soon. Gonna pick that up at the library -- anyone know if it was any good? IMO, some of them were AWEsome and some were pretty feeble. Gotta find out what happens, tho!

Yes, miss funny, I read the clan of the cave bear series...but I've not read the last one either...initial reviews said that it was just a "summary of all her prior work"...and I just couldn't bring myself to ordering it...do let me know what you think if you read it!

Love your avatar! I used to use something similar as my logo...

Nice to meet other Ayla fans! Classy, Jean Auel took so long between books that it's easy to forget which ones, how many, when, etc.! :) Via, I sure hope she does more than "summarize," cause she'd be leaving a LOT of unanswered questions if she did! Let's keep each other posted -- if I read it first, I'll let you know and vice versa! :) And you, too, Classy!
