Ahhhh, the refreshing fragrance of common sense! This is going in my quotable quotes file, to be pulled out to rebut the "secondhand vapor" nuts:

Councilwoman Toni Iseman, the council's most avid advocate of smoking bans as a person who is made ill by secondhand smoke, said she once sat next to a smoker puffing on an e-cigarette and could not smell anything.

"A secondary [e-cig] benefit is not dropping cigarette butts on the ground, and we could possibly be helping someone quit smoking," Iseman said.

I emailed the Council to commend them on their common-sense vote and (at the suggestion of one of our members) to ask them how they felt about SB648. One councilman replied that he hadn't heard of SB648... That is just scary... (He also said they didn't want Sacramento or DC telling them how to run their city...)

Quote from the article
The secondhand vapor from an e-cig is no more harmful than the water vapor rising out of a cup of coffee

In Irvine CA, Farting can Only Done by Permit Only.
Having lived in Irvine for around three years, I get the joke.
:)

And I'd like to say that Irvine is sort of an anomaly when it comes to Orange County.
Irvine is an incorporated city mainly under the "control" of the Irvine Company.

There are almost zero liquor stores there.
And even the AM/PM gas station had to redo their signs to "blend in" better.

They don't like anything but brown in Irvine.
But it is a really nice place to live.

I am, however, glad I no longer live there.

This.

Although I would extend that to banning Nannies.

Now the question is, how do we introduce such a bill?
Perhaps Mayor Bloomberg could give us some tips on how to introduce such legislation.

Hmmm... You've got me thinking cosmicly. By definition, all ANTZ are Nannies. Are there Nannies who aren't ANTZ? Do real nannies take umbrage at their very respectable and honorable job title being used in a very derogatory sense to describe holier-than-thou do-gooder puritans? I shall have to ponder this at some length...

Perhaps if one was to phrase the question broadly and generally enough, we could convince Bloomnanny to introduce legislation banning himself! Wouldn't that be a hoot?!
