I was lucky enough to be in the neighborhood, so I stopped in at Lakeshore Vapors yesterday. Wow, 808 heaven, I even found a 808 clone of a Vivi Nova! The staff at the shop are super friendly and took time to answer all my questions and even told me that if there was something that I wanted but couldn't find with 808 threading, they could order it!! Whooo-hoooo!
I spoke with the owner, Kari, she was very interested in providing me with what I was looking for, even if she didn't have it. She had me write down my wish list for her, which I thought was above and beyond. Not too many places you can get that kind of service, right? She has a nice selection of the carved and designer egos, but they are 808s.
They do have a full selection of 510/ego as well, so it truly is a one stop shop. Of course, being a B&M, the prices are a bit higher than the internet-only vendors, but it is well worth a few extra bucks.
If you browse Lakeshore's website and don't see what you are looking for, I recommend that you give them a call, they probably have it in the store. For example, when you see the T3s on the site, the picture shows a standard 510 T3, but they do offer the new version in 808, the one with the changeable drip tip.
