I just ordered this pv and just got it yesterday. This is my first experience with VV and I gotta say I like it a lot. I was wondering if anyone else has this same unit. The website that I bought it from says to push the activation button 5 times to display the resistance and the remaining battery, but when I do this all I get on the display is 0.0. I am using a 510 to 510 sealed drip shield adapter with a 3.0 ohm carto, would this prevent the unit from displaying the resistance and the battery charge remaining? Without the adapter I still get the same reading of 0.0. I am using 18350 batteries from my silver SD, so I don't know if that might also be the problem. I have some AW IMRs in the mail that should be here today. Anyone else have this happen or possibly know what I am doing wrong?

Verrrry Eenterestink (as Arte Johnson would say as the German soldier on Laugh-in, way back in the late-60s/early-70s).

According to the description on the Vaporheads site, your J-Lin Lambo is indeed an updated, improved version of the original L-Rider chrome Lambo (J-Lin is a partner company to L-Rider). It's not, however, the new and totally-redesigned L-Rider Lavatube v3 that Volcano is eagerly awaiting---for whatever that's worth. It appears to be an interim upgrade to address some of the shortcomings of the first Lambo version, namely, the 2.5 amp limit and lack of atty/carto resistance checking.

As a result, your first post is entirely accurate (at least if we can believe Vaporheads' description, which is not always a guaranteed certainty). If your troubles don't vanish after putting in an AW IMR 18650, then your unit is probably defective, in which case you should and of course will contact Vaporheads for an RMA return/replacement.

An additional problem with the original Lambo was the spring-loaded floating positive pin in the 510 connector. That's a good idea, but L-Rider's design was flawed. The disk on the end of the pin was too small in diameter, the spring would sometimes stick and not decompress when changing cartos, and the pin itself wasn't sealed, which meant that juice could leak into the innards, potentially shorting out the circuitry on the chip board. I don't know if J-Lin addressed those problems or not in your newer version, but it's worth a head's up.

Two companies make Lavatubes - L-Rider and Young June. They're not affiliated in any way

J-Lin is a vendor.

The photo on Vaporheads is of an L-Rider Lavatube - is has a red button and a 2.5 limit
If it's supposed to have 3.5 amp it's not a Lambo - it's a Young June mini Lavatube - which is a copy of the Lambo and it isn't 3.5 amp, it's 3 amps.

Anyone that sells you a Lavatube with a 3.5 amp limit is oblivious or misleading.

You may want to confirmation from the vendor on the actual material construction of the tube in question. My L-Rider LT (chrome, full size, red menu button) is made from brass I believe. My Young June LT (chrome, full size, all chrome buttons, 3 amp limit) is made from aluminum. IMO the internals are better on the YJ model but the build quality overall is much superior on the L-Rider model.
