I have been doing some intense DIY study and think I might have a fair grasp on how to accomplish same.
I realize nicotine has to be handled very carefully, and it appears most people buy large quantities and transfer to smaller Amber bottles. The one item I have not found is the recommended way to actually transfer to smaller containers for freezing.
Any tips appreciated.

I use a squirt bottle like for ketchup at a picnic.

I just use a Glass Funnel.

You Don't have to use Glass. I just happen to have some as well as some Misc Lab Glassware.

A decent Plastic funnel would work fine.

BTW - After transferring to Smaller Bottles, I think it is a Good Idea to make a Label with Nicotine Level, PG/VG, Date off Bottling, etc. Then Put a piece of 2" Wide Clear Packing Tape over it.

Then I Wrap the Bottle(s) in Small Bubble Bubble Wrap and put some Packing Tap over that.

Some people will also put Electrical Tape around the Bottle Cap/Bottle Neck.

Nic and oxygen can be a problem when exposed together, might like to read:

The bottle your nicotine comes in will be fine for storage in the freezer/fridge but my open "working bottle" of nicotine has been in the cabinet at room temp for almost a year, so there is also that :)

I've not found a reason to break up the nicotine over the years, but thought I'd offer my method, for what it's worth.

Thanks, I was just about to ask that question!
So my plan would be to start ordering a liter, break that up into smaller bottles. I have read people have successfully used 250ml unfrozen over a period of a almost a year without issues. At my estimated rate of usage, I would think 250ml would last 10 months.
The balance of the bottles frozen until use.
The second liter goes in to be frozen until needed, then repeat the breakdowns when needed.
I have read vg preserves better than pg base.
Let me know if you see any holes in my logic.

Yep; that is how I have treated mine.
I bought 4 liters, from two vendors, and broke one down into small containers. The remainder went straight into the freezer (2 came in PET bottles, 2 came in HDPE bottles). I read about the benefits of transferring to glass vs. leaving them in original non/low-permeable plastic and opted for the latter (less exposure to air). It has been two years now, and I have yet to need to open a second liter; so I can't say with any certainty that this was the best choice. But I don't regret my decision.:D

I have a funnel that came with my DIY kit that I use.

Do you know what the specs are, for the plastic bottles your nic base came in, and their caps? Unless they were manufactured to meet the rigid specs of plastics used by the scientifc, medical, educational laboratory fields, etc...I'd personally be leery about freezing my nic base in them for longterm storage.

The remainder went straight into the freezer (2 came in PET bottles, 2 came in HDPE bottles). I read about the benefits of transferring to glass vs. leaving them in original non/low-permeable plastic and opted for the latter (less exposure to air).

I'm kind of surprised you froze yours in the plastic bottles they came in, unless you did first find out the specs of your bottles and their caps...regarding what temps they can withstand longterm. If you did find them, would you mind telling me where? I'd appreciate it.

The bottles I determined based on the recycle code. Caps, to be honest, I didn't really think about. Bottles are factory safety-sealed (foil seal adhered over mouth of bottle, underneath the cap) and I could not force any air out around the cap by squeezing the bottle (like you can do with most closed concentrate bottles). I have to say I never gave any thought to "long-term cold temp" durability. Two years now, in a household side-by-side (freezer side), and no catastrophic failures yet.:)

Have you heard/read of any issues?

Small funnel, just make sure the one you get fits in the bottles you're going to be filling (not all funnels will).

For cold storage (freezer), glass bottles with polycone caps are -ideal- if long term preservation is the goal (decades), but likely won't provide any noticeable advantage over plastic for short term storage (<7 years).

Refrigeration greatly extends the shelf life of liquid nic, the colder it's kept the longer its shelf life will be. I keep mine at -20F.

Is this the type of bottle you are recommending?

32 oz. Amber Boston Round with Black Poly Cone Cap (33/400)

That is a Great Bottle with the type of Cap I prefer to use. But if I was doing it, I would go with an Four 8oz (250ml) Bottles. Or even Eight 4oz(125ml) Bottles.

If you Freeze 32oz(1L) of Nicotine Base in a Single Bottle, then to Draw Off Nicotine Base when you needed it, you are going to need to Thraw the Entire Bottle ever time you want some.

Smaller Bottles also Fit better in my Frig/Freezer.

And, Heaven Forbid, if I Drop a Bottle and it Breaks (or something else Unforeseen happens to it), I'd rather have that happen to 250ml or 125ml Bottle verses a Full Litter.

I see your point. Good suggestion, if transferring to glass anyway, just go for the 250ml storage.
    Thanks for the advice.

I use Glass because I can't Verify that the Plastic Container I have Is or Isn't suitable for Long Term Storage of Nicotine Base.

To do that, I would need to know the Exact Monomer make-up of the Plastic. And what type of Colorants, Elastomers, Stabilizers, etc, were used in the Production of the Plastic Bottle.

That, and I Don't Know what the Long Term effects of Permeability and or Chemical Leaching may or may not be.
