hi there, I've got a standard Joye510 and I was wondering what I could do to increase battery life

I've heard some people say they use eGo batteries, and then I think there's the option of MEGA batteries from TotallyWicked

but will eGo batteries fit in my battery charger -- I know the MEGA ones won't

also, will MEGA batteries from TW fit on my standard atties, or will I have to buy new batteries and cartridges and cartos if I start using TW MEGA batts

ideally I'd like to get a 4-battery charger too, so I want to make sure I'm settled on a battery before I buy it

You can buy any 510 battery and you will be fine. The 510 charger will charge a mega 510 or ego battery. Charging the Ego battery will take a while though as the ego charger is a rapid charger.

One option to consider is getting the new style ego battery that is also a passthrough. They have a USB connector on the end of it... This is probably the best option outside of buying an ego kit.

Edit: The mega won't fit your charger? Not sure what kind of charger you have as they simply screw on? Unless you are using a PCC or something.

I agree with doc get a big battery that has the usb front charge, you can normally get them for around 20 bucks and they are compatible with your other 510 stuff.

INFERNO - Super Battery
Electronic Cigarette - Pass-throughs - Joye eGo

note: you don't need a special cord to charge these you just need any usb cord with a mini connection on one end. (popular in some cell phones, many cameras, and most external hard drives)

Your 510 charger WILL charge the mega batteries. Your PCC may not fit them, but the charger will charge them just fine. The charger will actually charge an eGo as well (not your PCC), but it will take a long time. I'd get an eGo and an eGo charger. Or...I'd get an eGo passthrough as suggested above. You can get a full eGo kit with two of everything (totally interchangeable with your 510 stuff) for relatively cheap....around $50. Check out E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings

I know this battery: FreedomSmokeUSA doesn't act as a passthrough but would that thing really provide 9 hours??? I divided 900mAH by the 180mAH and got five, and since my regular 510 batteries last about 2 hours during my busy vaping sessions, does that mean it's ten hours since it's five times as much capacity, or is it non-linear -- I mean, I know most places overestimate how long a battery will last so they can sell more of em, either that or I just vape more than most people

also, can I buy the fast-charging eGo charger and use it on regular 510 batteries, or this one I just linked from FSUSA?

I know you guys already said stuff is pretty much interchangeable, but I just want to doublecheck -- don't want to fry anything

P.S. I don't really need a passthrough as I already have one for when I'm at the computer -- I just want to be able to take two batteries away from the house for as long as 16 hours and not have to need a third battery

I have a 900mah eGo and that battery will last longer than 9 hours, believe me. I use it from the time I wake up until I go to bed before I put it on the charger and it still hasn't been vaped dead. My fiance's will last at least a day and half, sometimes longer and he has used it until it ran out of charge.

You'd have to vape on it near constantly in order to run out the charge after 9 hours.

The point of maybe getting an eGO PT battery as you can charge it or use it as a battery - either. You don't really have an eGO charger but you can charge an ego battery - it will just take a long time using a 510 charger.

I think 9 hours is a reach. My 650 lasts maybe 4 hours for me, but this largely depends on how much you vape.

If you wait for a sale Liberty Flights has had the EGO kits for $40.

Edit: One more thing to note - if you buy just an ego battery also order a cone. You don't need it, but good cosmetically.

okay doc that's a relief -- I was just looking at jantyworld and it was $85... too steep for me if I can just buy a 900mAH ego battery that will work on my 510 --

I probably will get an eGo down the road, but I'm just wondering how long it will take to charge that 900mAH battery on the 510 charger -- also, will the green light go on once it's charged? I hope so...

maybe I'll just buy the eGo charger as well

Someone posted in another thread that LF will have the EGO on sale for $40 again on Black Friday. Not sure how they know this, but they do have sales every few weeks. But those sales are always limited to 50 units and they last maybe 1 day.

Edit: Keep in mind that an EGO kit generally comes with 2 510 atomizers as well and those generally run $8 each. You will need more atty's anyhow with your 510 - so the eGO kit is the way to go if you can get a sale.
