I don't know maybe because it's 3 am or because I'm really tired but can't sleep.. but I have a weird question. I've seen in threads people talking about how to properly taste their vape to get a full sense of the flavor.. 'picking up nuances' one person referred to it by exhaling through the nose. I know part of taste comes from sense of smell... but I don't get it.. All I get out of it is an urge to sneeze. So what's the deal with this, does it really make a difference?

It does make a difference. "Snorking" as it's called by the cigar community allows you to pick up flavors you would otherwise miss. It's not that simple to do. First, you have to learn how to nose exhale without getting sinuses full of smoke (the urge to sneeze). Like anything, practice makes perfect. Being a cigar and pipe veteran, I do it automatically without a second thought.

I had problems at first exhaling through the nose. Some random thoughts on sneezing are. Your build might be to hot and the vapor to warm? Or possibly you are sensitive to PG or VG? I found my problem was the vape was to warm.

I always exhale part of my vape through my nose. I also believe that a good part of our sense of taste is actually smell. Never did any real research on it, it just 'feels' right to me.

I never get an urge to sneeze from vaping, no matter what I do.

I just vaped twice form my Reo and the first time I exhaled through my mouth only, the second time I included my nose. IMO the nose also exhale had more taste.

But it is almost 4:00 am, so your guess is as good as mine, LOL.

I don't even know what to call it, it's not a "throat hit", but with higher nic liquids I can feel a little "bite" in my nasal passages when I first start vaping when I get up, but it doesn't trigger a sneeze.

I normally exhale at least a part of my vape through my nose.

I exhale through the mouth and through the nose. If you want to taste the juice and get the most out of it without inhaling deeply, inhale just enough to be able to exhale through the nose. It's a good way to enjoy your vape without getting a heavy or irritated lung feeling.

If it tickles your nose and makes you sneeze, start a salt water spray regime to heal and toughen the sinuses. They may be a little raw from allergies.

if you want to see how coordinated you are (or aren't) try letting the vapor out of your mouth into your nose, and inhale through the nose...
seen it, can't do it.

That's called a French Inhale. Take a mouth draw, then open your mouth and breathe in through your nose. The vacuum pulls the vape out of your mouth and through the nose.

Good tip.

I did this a lot with cigarettes and I taste more inhaling through my nose than exhaling. I've always known it as French inhaling too.

I agree with the earlier post about it making making the mustache wet on exhale!!! I never got into exhaling through the nose when I smoked, as I always had facial hair and it would smell if I did so. Now that I vape, I do it a little, but I am more into vaping for the smoking piece of it, not so much the flavor. But I might think about it now, since I never thought of/ realized the flavor side of it.

If you try this remember that PG dries you out alot and that included your nasel passages, The drying can inturn cause some nose bleeding. I find that it gets uncomfortable and my nose bleeds often if I ex hale thru my nose.:2c:

Hmmm That is really surprising. I vape 70 pg 30 vg in my kayfun (about 15 ml a day) and probably let almost half of every exhale out of my nose and have never had even the slightest agitation or side effect from doing so.

Had a friend a while ago wanting to try my vape. He grabbed it, and inhaled STRAIGHT & DIRECTLY into his lungs. He coughed so hard I thought he was going to die.
Then, to show him how to do it, I had to stop and think about it for a moment. I tend to take two short inhales / puffs into mouth, then usually VERY SLOWLY exhale alternately from nose and mouth. Every so often I find I will take a deep inhale into mouth first, then deep into lungs, and exhale through the nose. Very enjoyable and relaxing, and I believe I get the full range of flavor nuances this way. Flavors do seem to be different on the inhale and on the exhale ('coming & going', so-to-speak)! :vapor:

I always exhale partially through my nose, and I do think it increases the flavor. The vapor makes my moustache wet though... Only time I get the urge to sneeze is when my wicks aren't saturated enough. It's so reliable that I use the sensation to determine when I need to drip more juice in an RDA.
I try every so often out my nose, but most times it just makes my nose runny and bugs me. I hate having a runny nose and blowing my nose is kind of a pet peeve/something I hate doing. It bothers me to blow my nose.

Anyways I do notice if I blow the vapor up into the air it gets in the 'stache and when I lick my lips or whatever I can taste the juice from the hairs. It's pretty crazy how the flavor stays for a while!

now imma have to pay attention.............:vapor:

Don'tcha hate that? Damn people making us think.

When I smoked and now when I vape I rarely ever blow through my nose intentionally. I just tried it. I don't like it. Feels weird and I am guessing it causes more vape boogers.
