Hi all, I'm posting this for my son. I'm a mechanical mod vaper so know nothing about TC and can't help my son. He bought a Lavabox and it showed up yesterday. I built his Mutationx v4 for him with dual 26g coils on 7/64 bit coming in at .45, he's still learning. Anyway he fired it up and he loved it. We noticed right away with the kanthal coils to keep the watts and temp turned down to keep the legs from getting hot. Once we figured that out he was doing good with it set at 210 and 45w.

An hour or so later he comes to me and shows me that it's dead. It won't do anything. We checked the battery connections and everything looks good there, no liquid inside the mod etc. We're at a loss. Other than contacting the maker, which we've done, is there anything else we can check or do here ourselves?

This thing was really chucking out the vapor and had me thinking about getting one myself but now this.

First off you can't use Kanthal for Temperature Control. You need to use either Ni200 (support built into the mod), Ti1, or SS (with the last 2 you need to input the TCR yourself through Escribe with DNA200 mods).

If you hook up your mod to Escribe and it lights up, the fuse probably blew. Other than that, I'm not sure what the problem may be. Good luck!

Cheers,
Steve

Using Kanthal would have caused the device to drop out of Temp mode and go directly into Power mode. So your 210 would have just been ignored and you would have been running at 45W in Power mode. Nothing that should cause a problem. It sounds like a dead DNA200 board. Seems to be pretty common problem. You can get more information on dead boards etc.. and possible solutions from the Early Adopters forums that you won't see posted here as much. DNA 200 Early Adopters Forum

Could be something do do with the assembly of the device also. The maker should be able to get ya fixed up. Could be a bad or discharged battery also as some devices are being send out with low battery levels by the device makers. Could be a number of things but the maker can sort it out.

When you first got it did you fully charge the battery?
