This may have been posted before. If so, sorry.

I have switched over from using 3.0ohm dual coils with my LT in a DC tank to standard resistance 3.0ohm Boge XL cartos. I punch them myself.

WOW. What a difference that makes. I can now vape across all voltage ranges and the Lavatube now does exactly what it should.

In the UK, vendors don't stock the 3.0ohm single coils, pre-slotted. I have no idea why not as these really do improve pretty much everything about the Lavatube. You do have to be a little more careful about the carto sliding about. But in my opinion it is worth it.

I can now vape from 3.5 - 5.3v with no problems. (I can't go much over 4.6 as the throat hit becomes ridiculous!)

Does anyone know how to cut one of the wires on the DC. I got a 2ohm and the voltage isnt high enough.

I hestitate to say exactly, because I never did it myself. There's a vid on Youtube by a guy called KensManCave. He explains how to do it. There are probably other vids, but that's the one I saw. It looked pretty simple.

No problem. I'm also going to be trying the 2.5ohm standard resistance as well, as 3ohm may be a little much!! I'm finding I have to dial back to 4.4v to stop my throat exploding ;)

Shouldn't you be going the other direction with the resistance then? If you go up to 3.5ohm, you should be able handle 6V without choking. 2.5ohm will just be hotter.

I just got a standard carto punch from one of the UK suppliers. I wouldn't bother cutting wires, just get XXL boges at 2.8-3ohm and slot/punch them yourself. Far less fiddly.

They don't have the flange, so you may need a relatively tight fitting tank. I have about 5 tanks and all of them are fine.

I got mine from VapeEscape, but they seem to be out of stock at the moment. They do sell them here but they are £1 more.

Boge 510 XXL Cartomisers - stainless - Boge Cartomisers - Atomisers

The XXL ones are what you want, and one of these

There are other models available, shop around.

I tend to. But dual coils just don't seem to work all that well with the Lavatube. (they aren't awful, just not all that great) With the standard resistance Boge single coil it's just so much better.

I don't pretend to know anything about resistance or electronics, I just seem to get a better range using these cartos.

IMHO it's like the LavaTube is a whole new device. I was using the 3 ohm dual coils since I got it. Now I am using the singles it's just 100% better.

My next order will definitely be for Boge 510 3 ohm single coil cartos. I don't think I'll invest in the XL size or tanks just yet, considering that I don't mind topping off my cartos every couple hours.

Thanks for your great opening post. This thread has been very helpful for me.
