Hello. So I bought a lava tube three months ago. Just this past month I have had issues with it. It started with not reading the attached Atty. I finally realized the issue was the rubber gasket around the battery post. After fiddling with it the gasket fell out. I contacted volcanoe e cigs about the issue. They had told me that without the gasket it the device would become unsafe for use and that they would bring it in under warranty. I said sure and they asked which type of attys. I was using. The kind I used voided my warranty. So I guess I should have read the fine print. My question is now if I get the gasket back around the post is the device fine to use? They won't respond to me now since they told me my warranty was void. Someone please help I don't want to see this money wasted.

What a con.

Volcano - What a bunch of *unprintable*

They are refusing the warranty because you used a Kanger Protank?

Ridiculous, and pathetic. Another reason to have nothing to do with this company.

How these people get away with this sort of thing is staggering. My EVIC died (the wiring suffered some sort of failure). Guess what - Joyetech don't warranty the wiring.

Sorry, but the e-cig industry needs to sort it out and companies that pull these stunts need to be named and shamed.

This isn't a $10 eGo, this is an expensive mod. 3 months isn't acceptable. It's not like you've been using homemade stuff.

I despair.

(Sorry to hear about this.... it really winds me up)

Its the 2.5 sorry. Thanks for the quick reply gives me relief that it wasn't a total waste. I use mainly a kanger tech pro tank. Some times a 510 to ego adapter for evod tanks. Volcanoe told me that kanger 510 connections are slightly longer then their own which caused this issue.

So... One of the most common toppers voids their warranty? I'll bet anything other then what they sell on their site voids the warranty. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Do you have the money for another mod? Do you have backup?

It'd be nice if everything worked perfectly with all other manufacturers stuff, but how can you expect that when so much of the time a manufacturer can't make it's own stuff to spec all the time. Volcano makes its products to work with its products and it's understandable, although disappointing, they don't want to warranty problems caused by other makers equipment. I can't blame them much.

I guess it's all a matter of expectations. I don't really have the answers, I just know if I was in business and the customers expected me to pay for problems caused by other makers stuff, I would have to make a choice, either lose a lot of money at no fault of my own, or draw a line in the sand and not warranty problems I did'nt cause.

As to more practical matters: Anyone have experience removing the LT 2.5 top cap?

They don't really have a top cap, not in the sense that the version1 did anyway. You have to access everything from the underside of the top half of the device. Not so sure how easy it would be to get in there, don't have one.

Ya its a shame, but I can get another device for the time being. One thing that really made me mad about this whole situation. Was that before I had bought the lava tube I contacted them and asked if a pro tank and evods would work if I bought their device. They said ya they would work no problems at all. But still I guess my fault for not fully reading their terms on the warranty, but a heads up from thier team would have been nice before I dropped money on the starter kit. Thanks everyone for the feed back, and be careful when looking into getting the lavatube.

Do you still have that e-mail or know that person that person you talk too?

Post on their forums here and rant about it...this is total BS, I have lavatube and same thing happen to me. I told them it can read any connection and warrantied w/out hassle.

At least get it off your chest, and get in good rant.

That's all you need then is that e-mail...and did you use a credit card?...esp Amex, if you need too ..put in dispute with your credit card company.
1. you exhausted all means with vendor
2. document your e-mails, contact etc
3. if they don't care..at least you tried!...of course if this was Chinese vendor..I would say, hmm..how about them Provari thingies..I heard they are really good..but kinda pricey..not sure if it's worth it, you might want to start thread on it on ECF.

If you need too go into ...... mod and go to their Lavatube sub forum and raise a poop storm.

maxcat, you are only a few posts away from being able to post in other areas of the ECF board. I am a Lavatube owner and it was may first step up from EGO type batteries. The main reason I went for it was the one year warrenty, which I have used twice already at a local Volcano store. Where did you buy your Lavatube? If it was direct, and you don't get satisfaction from them, I urge you to get your required post count and start a thread in the Volcano vendor forum. Volcano Ecigs
If that doesn't get you some help you might be able to raise the pin a bit, and slip a #60 Danco washer (plumbing isle of most hardware stores) under the pin http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...59634-fixing-mvp-vv3-contact-issue-guide.html check out this thread for some fixes that mvp owners have come up with. I used this fix on my mvp and only lifted the pin a little ways, cut the washer, and used needle point tweezers to get it started, then used a very small flat blade screwdriver to work it down around the pin. Good luck!

Enaud I bought it directly from their website. I've just gave up on the issue. I tried contacting them again with no success. Its not worth the hassel. Should have spent the extra 50$ at the time and got a provari kit. Now I have the equipment to just purchase a provari mod without a starter kit. So I guess that's the only positive of this experience. Ya live and ya learn. I did love the lavatube until this such a shame :(

Lava tube was my first PV. Of course it stopped working within a month. They did replace it after I jumped through several hoops. Got a replacement, that one lasted maybe a month? At that point I just gave up, not worth the hassle. Sorry your going through this. But it sounds like your on the right track. My advice, get something like the Provari you mentioned. You'll be happy :)
