I havent purchased one of those, I do have a version back form it that I got in the classies here for like 20 bucks. Not a bad device - but VERY high priced for what it is. Is there something specific drawing you to this one? Or something specific you are looking for critique on? Threads, menu function, durability?

I have one and here are my thoughts since owning 11/2013:

When I first got it, I thought F##k..it's just Vamo in red Ninja turtle shell..what a rip....buyer's remorse time...and it has very tight draw..
Then over time...the threading on my Vamo v3 got worse and worse from changing tanks etc. I clean my stuff all the time too...my Lavatube 2.5 still was buttery smooth with Kanger Pro Tanks, Innokin 30 tanks...now my Vamo v3 can only accept Ego style tanks...shrug what can I do...

Then I found a air flow controller 510 connection..boom..brought some new life for my Lavatube 2.5... Booya...by now the family has grown, MVP 2.0, Itaste VV/VW, VV E-go stick, some backup E-go batteries...

Then came the empathy...I got HCigar Kayfun 3.1 on a whim...built it and then slap it on top of my Lavatube 2.5...crank it up to 12.00 Watts...I thought I was Mech Godzilla with all the hot vapor coming out...

I can't say if it's worth the money to you...it just happen to be right APV cause it was the only one than I had that can give consist hit on high wattage...

I would not recommend for your day to day vapor...and I had to buy accessories to get any enjoyment out of it..is it not a bad APV...very high quality shell...it still looks brand new...Ninja Turtle power..but to tell somebody to get 79.99 APV with no accessories, etc...is bit too much..

If you can get used 2.5 for under $50.00 shipped..go for it..just make sure you get air flow controller, etc...

Man lots of info! Thanks!
it is the new V2.5 (supposedly updated control board) listed for $139.00 with tank battery and charger and a case included along with (no big deal since I brew my own) a 15ml bottle of juice.
It says it will make 12 watts which is far more than anything I currently have. only been vaping a bit over 2 months.
looking to use it as a juice tester. don't own a drip APV currently.

How much is a provari? does it use coils like Kangas etc.?
will accept my protanks? (don't think the lavatube will)
just looking for a good controllable mod for $100 to about $150 bux
Thanks!

Looks like the provari does & functions much like the lavatube v2.5 uses the same battery, has an equal voltage range, tank looks similar has current protection/ limiting etc.
One feature I like about the V2.5 is a RMS setting for volts and watts as well as just volts and watts.
Is the provari a better build?
also the Provari is about 50 or 60 bux more than the V2.5

I think youre slightly confused. The Provari is a mod just like the lavatube. Your protank will fit anything with a 510 connection, which is just about every mod out there. I guarantee you can use the protank with the lavatube. I have both although all of my protanks are collecting dust in the junk drawer. If you are looking for something that is adjustable to put a dripper on you can get a vamo v5 for 55 shipped, a Trustfire charger for 12 bucks and two sony vtc4 batteries for 15 bucks shipped. I would spend the extra money on a quality dripper. I have a few dripper clones and there is always something you have to modify to get them to work properly. For instance my nimbus clone needs a longer screw on the positive post.

Also if you are going to use a dripper on a vw/vv device most of them have a limit of 1-1.5 ohms.

As for the lavatube v2.5 its pretty dang thick and built well, but it doesn' stand out as anything special.

I'll be blunt..why are spending so much on tester?...there are tons of APVs that can accept 510 connection (drippers, Kanger Pro tanks) that does what you need...Innokin SVD, Vamo V5, VMAX, Siegeli stuff.....guess what they are pretty much do the same things you want, the same technology...

Yes people swear by Provari...but it's only variable voltage..but reliable and stable variable voltage. Would I get one..maybe....I rather save up for DNA30 Hana mod...

What I did was go on youtube..and see how things are demo..how to navigate through the menu, clicky buttons, construction, were screw threads buttery smooth or just crappy...what were the negatives and pros....

Please avoid reviewers...that all they talk about is "wow..she vapes like crazy...look at casper the ghost coming out this."
You want reviewers who will tell you everything, quality build, tight draws..worth the cost etc?

Then research ohm resistance, coil building, etc...take your time....it's not like the prices are falling anytime soon..on Provari or lavatube...

One of my biggest regrets was not coming to this board sooner and getting sound, reasonable advice..i did everything through trial and error and some great youtube videos and some BS ones.

There are 2 main reasons I love the Provari:The consistency of the draw up until the battery drain limit and the extended vape time without a battery (18650) change. Check out Phil Busardo's review on YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-lXupJEiLU
I have been vaping for about 5 years now and the Provari has given me the best vaping experience.

Thanks for being blunt! I hate bush beaters and like it straight! I intend to use it for more than just juice tasting. ( am looking for a larger tank w/good draw for my vision spinner. I may just get the aerotank, the aspire nautalis and an I30B just to see which one works best for me and my current set up.

I've been on youtube quite a bit looking at busardo's and indoor smokers videos.
been lurking on here for a few weeks before I joined and have learned a lot.
used to be an electronic bench tech for a few years and know ohms law, volts and amps all too well, probably wont get into coil building due to my fading eye sight (used to build my own custom circuit boards for various projects)

ha ha! I hate those ridiculously long videos where they have to hit the vape every third word and talk about casper etc. If a video is longer than 3 or 4 minutes I usually wont watch it as I know 90% will no doubt be full of drivel!
I really appreciate the input on the subject.
I wish there was a site or page that had all the best mods linned up with specs and pictures.
Thanks!
