For now he's still at home in San Francisco, being bird-sat by my neighbors.
I still haven't been able to find out if pet birds can be imported to China. The only websites I could find with info on importing pets to China are Shanghai based websites, and one of them specifies that birds cannot be imported to Shanghai, but I'm not sure if that is a local regulation, or national.
In any case, I do know he would have to go through a 30 day quarantine if he can be exported to China, and another 30 day quarantine when I re-import him to the US, and as much as it breaks my heart to leave him at home for so long, thinking of him in some quarantine warehouse for a month breaks my heart even more. At least at home he has his own cage, toys and food, and people he knows checking on him.
