Hello! I've been vaping for about 2 weeks, and everything was fine the first week or so, no leaks whatsoever. I have 2 identical units, ego battery with clearomizer CE5+. Now, for the last week or so, both of them are leaking badly, to the point of dripping down the battery, every time I inhale. Holding the button without inhaling doesn't seem to cause it. They are leaking out of the connection where you twist to remove the battery; the inside where the battery contact is is all wet with juice. I'm careful when filling to not let juice go anywhere but down the side of the clearomizer. In the picture I linked, the red one is taken apart and that's exactly where the leak is at. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Juice is menthol 50/50 24 mg.

I use to have that issue with my evods. I am not sure if this would help with that atomizer but it is worth a try. Whenever I would fill my atomizer, I would place a tissue over the mouth end and give it a couple of shakes like you would an o'l time thermometer. Then attach to the battery. This corrected my leakage. Good luck to you and I hope one of the suggestions helps you.

I'm guessing you haven't changed the replaceable coil head;
Or maybe those are the disposable tanks where you can't change the coil head.

On one of them I have replaced the atomizer, the other one is only about a week old and I've only refilled it (1.6 ml) maybe 4 or 5 times. I would not have even refilled it that much if the issue of most of it leaking out in a 15-20 minute time frame hadn't happened. Seems like a bit soon to be replacing the atomizer, right?

"Simple Solutions is to assist the Beginning Vaper with getting started"

I thought that's what I was doing, I'm absolutely a beginning vaper just struggling through learning all this stuff... so I guess I don't know what WOULD be an acceptable post in Simple Solutions.

I've never removed any rubber parts... from my newer one the only thing I've ever removed is the drip tip to refill the juice. I'll try shaking it down after filling.
Another question: What would be a safe thing to clean off the battery contact area off with? Isopropyl alcohol just seems like a bad idea but it's getting more gunked up than a dry Q-tip or paper towel can deal with.

Thank you for your help!

I just use a cotton swab for general cleaning of my ego batteries. But if lots of juice ends up there (it happens, they're sealed so it's not a big deal) I dip the swab in isopropyl and clean it out. Just make sure you use the dry end to get it all out after. It does evaporate very quickly though.

I worked a lot with cell phones and computers, and I've used rubbing alcohol to clean all manner of parts and buttons. It's pretty much a miracle liquid in regards to cleaning sensitive equipment. It gets in quick, absorbs stuff you want out, the evaporates in seconds.

Sadly I'm no help with the CE5 issue. As what you're experiencing pretty much sums up why I stopped using them.
Good luck though!

Any tank (clearomizer) starting with CE is going to be of "suspect quality". They are unreliable for the most part, and will not get the job done in the long run (there are a few out there that DO perform well, like the Aspire branded CE5-S and a couple of others, but that is not what you have). I understand you've already invested a considerable amount in your kit, but you should look into a better topper for your ego batteries. There are plenty of options that are well under 10$. Even a (genuine) Kanger EVOD would do you right, and those usually cost less than 5$ each. There are slightly more expensive options too, if you want a glass instead of plastic tank to be able to use those juices that will wreck plastic.

It may be that you are using a juice that will wreck plastic, by the way, which can compromise the tank and cause it to leak, but it is hard to tell. If you do end up considering new toppers for your batteries, speak up and we can help guide you to something that should work better than what you already have.

Okay, I can use isopropyl alcohol to clean the contact area of the battery without worrying about any of it going UP through the same route the juice came DOWN through and tainting the juice?

Since I bought my e-cigs in blister packs and everything about it is unfamiliar to me, I've been thinking that it being marked "CE5+" referred to the whole thing. Now I think I'm wrong on that... I'm going to see if I can at least name the parts I have so I can learn what can be changed out without starting over....

1. Mouthpiece = Drip Tip
2. Clearomizer... is this the only part that's actually the CE5+? Mine is marked to 1.6 ml about 3/4 the way up. I assume I should not fill beyond that line. It is plastic.
3. Atomizer.... I really don't know which one to get, other than taking my e-cig to the B&M where I bought it and asking for more. I do plan on learning to dry burn but not just yet. My understanding (probably wrong too!) is they last around 2 weeks and with my much decreased sense of taste I'll probably only know when the vape isn't satisfying that it's time to change the atomizer. Mine cost $2.00.
4. Ego battery (and charger, of course) Mine seem to work very well and last a long time between charges.
5. Juice. I have one kind, 24 mg menthol 50/50 and I don't think I saw that on any of the "clearomizer cracker" lists

I can put different clearomizers on the batteries I have?

Sorry for sounding like a complete idiot with no knowledge at all about what I have and what I can change... I did originally start this thread in Simple Solutions for beginners!

yes you can put different clearos on the batteries; they take 510 threaded tanks and eGo threaded tanks.

this looks alot like what you have I think.

Yep, you're getting it!

The top portion is the CE5+ . You can replace the top portion (clearomizer, the tank, all of its parts) with something else that works better if you find those aren't working well enough for you. Your EGO style batteries have both EGO threading and 510 threading, which means those batteries can support almost every other clearomizer available. This is a good thing, and your batteries should be just fine even if you don't like the clearomizer toppers.

Atomizers are the heating element, sometimes called coils, heads, atty's. Usually they are comprised of a heating coil, and some wicking material and the housing that contains them. They do not last forever, and you take them out and replace them when your vape starts to taste "wrong" somehow, either burnt or dry or bad etc. They are the part that you put inside the tank section.

You can put whatever you like on your batteries. The tank sections that came with your blister packs are the very lowest on the quality scale of vape. While they will work, they tend to have more problems than others.

New vapers, like me two months ago, often have problems with anything and everything they buy. You'll learn it though, and your vape will be better for it!

I had no luck with the CE type clearomizers and got other tanks within a week of starting vaping. I know other people who have used them for quite awhile though. I would at least try an EVOD or something though. If it keeps you from smoking what's it really worth to ya? Also, Classwife did you a favor moving your thread, probably more traffic over here.
