Hello,

Been vaping on and off a while, but no cigs in two days now, and I feel great. :)

I have a Innokin iTaste VTR v2. Could it do damage to it when juice leaks in the bottom? I suspect just a couple of tiny drips. It makes a gurgling sound when vaping.

Not sure what topper you are using but you can clean the connector without worry. Check it daily for any juice and wipe away. The gurgle sounds like you have a flooded topper, which can cause the leakage on the battery terminal.

Thank you! I cleaned it just now. Was worried that the juice could get into the e-cig. Using Iclear 30s that came with it. Will buy a Protank 3.

Checked again, and it's still leaking. Bedtime soon. Will clean it first.

Another check, and seems it's ok now. Using rubbing alcohol to get the sticky juice of it.

Perfect solution for cleaning contacts!! If you get some gurgling on any topper, tank, clearomizer, just take it off and put a tissue on the connector end, then blow gently through the tip to clear out excess e-liquid. A bit of liquid in the wrong place is fairly common just after refilling, a drop or two will get somewhere we didn't intend it to....:)

Thank you! :)

Rubbing alcohol is a "must" in every home yes. :)

Bought a Davide-S BDC Glassomizer. Got a big leak from it when trying it out. The juice stayed on the top of the connector, so it's leak proof there I guess. Found out before filling it that it could leak if the atomizer wasn't properly fastened, so I checked that. Don't know why, but I got spare atomizers so I will try again.

Needlefiller is really a great invention. :)

Cleaning contacts is the easy part. The real issue is why is your tank leaking juice in the first place?

A tiny drop of e-liquid on the contacts is normal and to be expected. However, if there is enough juice which is causing gurgling, juice in the mouth, or enough juice on the 510 connector that you have to clean it more than once a day, there's issues.

My guess is you are drawing too strongly on the clearomizer when you vape. The draw technique for vaping is different than for a tobacco cigarette. Use a longer, gentler, lighter draw technique.

Pulling too hard wicks too much juice to the coils. The coils can not vaporize all of the e-liquid, so the excess has no where to go but stay in the air chamber, resulting in the above symptoms.

Scuba divers learn to regulate their breathing to control their buoyancy by having the right amount of air in their lungs. Vapers learn to regulate the strength of their draw to suit the capabilities of their wick and coil. It is possible to adjust the power and airflow to do it in the other direction, but it requires the right equipment and that equipment has its own learning curve. You need to understand it anyway, or you won't know what needs adjusting.

There are three phases to dealing with leaks: 1. Confusion and frustration, 2. fixing it when it happens, 3. modulating your draw so it stops as soon as it starts.

This VW mod and rebuildable atomiser has its air-flow set rather tight for my preference because my latest build is rather slow at wicking. I could turn the power down, but then I'd get less vapour, or I could rebuild the coil to wick better, but that's more bother than I want to go to. I could rewick with cotton but then I'd need to change the wick when now I just dry-burn every two or three tank-fulls.

Ditto Baditude. Drawing too hard is the most common culprit for flooded atty's and clearos that I have seen. We get programmed by our brains when we used those "analog" cigarettes to pull harder to get more when it works quite the opposite for ecigs actually. I changed my technique and made a little bit of air space so I drew air and basically drafted the vapor as it was being produced with pretty good results and very minimal flooding. The longer you hold the button and the lighter you draw, the better the vapor. see if that helps
