Re KR808D-1
That is true that manuals don't need or encourage hard dragging. Go to LiteCigUSA.net and for $10 (not $40 or whatever V2 charges) buy a manual KR808D-1 battery. The shipping is under $3. That will help. I also recommend one of their plastic colored or black delrin 510/901/KR808D-1 drip tips (not the metal ones) to use as a mouthpiece on cartos. It's easy to remove for cleanup of for adding a bit of juice (after removing the carto from the battery). Then I do the cleanup - clean the threaded end, blow into the threaded end, sop up any loose juice above the stuffing.
With my KR808D-1 I use Vapor4Life blank cartos w/ manual batteries and with thin clear juices with 20% or less VG in them. Alternately 2 cartos, I can get 1-2 weeks use out of decent use out of each. Note: on the first fill of a blank I hold a tissue against the threaded end hole and put 18+ drops into the stuffing. Then I do the cleanup. Then I lay the carto on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sureevery bit of stuffing gets damp so I don't singe the stuffing. And when vaping, any time the vapor gets a bit dry or a bit light or the carto is getting too warm, I try adding some juice.
And sure - try some other models but all of them can leak. There is no magical no-leak ecig. however, I think cartomizers are least likely to leak. And if you are filling them yourself then you only have yourself to blame. On 510-threaded models I use Boge cartos. 510 manual and fat-battery Riva 510 which is also a manual are what I use. The slim 510 can only use standard resistance cartos so I use thoseand move them between the 510 and the Riva. The Riva can also use the hotter LR 2.0 ohm ones.
I think 100% PG juices leaks easier than thicker juices. But the thickest I like to go with cartos is 20% VG. Any more than that and the carto stuffing gets gunked up too fast, degrading performance sooner. 30% VG is Ok if you don;t mind starting a fresh carto sooner.
