Leaky atomizer

Hi all,

I de-wicked a 510 atomizer recently, and I'm noticing it's leaking all over the place at the base. It doesn't seem to kick in unless I use a ton of juice, but it's getting anywhere. Anyone have this issue?

Thats why I do not de-wick.....nothing to hold the juice.......if it aint broke-don't fix it....

It sounds like you're putting too much juice in it and flooding it. Blow it out and only put in three drops of juice to start. I quit dewicking and debridging my atties because I didn't think it made any difference.

Well it seeems like I have to drop drops down the side of the atomizer in order to get it far down enough to actually vape. If I drop directly on the... foil thing... it doesn't activate...

again.. blow it out till nothing comes out. drip 3 drops.. that will last you about 10 (give or take) draws before you need to drip again. all my attys are dewicked. My attys leak too buy only if I drip before I need to. If this doesn't work something is wrong with the atty.

I personally don't recommend Dewicking/Debridging because it causes more leakage and from my experience it shortens the life of the atomizer. Some people swear on it but to me it doesn't increase the flavor or the throat it by that much. The wick and the mesh (partially) is what holds the juice, if you remove the wick than what else is there to hold the juice? Something worth thinking about.

And as someone has said before, don't fix it if it ain't broken.

Btw, which atomizer brand are you using? Cisco? Ikenvape? Standard? Is it Low resistance/High resistance?

Well I figured since so many people were raving about it in the other thread that I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, I'm not really impressed, and I'm running out of tissues to clean up the leakage.

I can understand that you want to think they have come up with some "magical" idea to make the atty perform better, but my guess is that your vape experience with the de-wicked atty is less than using a normal atty, and the wasted juice is a bonus, right??? Not to mention ruining an atty....

If u dewicked it urself u Prolly pulled the cup up and Thats where its leaking. Had the same prob my first dewicking. Just gotta be careful not to pull too hard otherwise u pull the cup up and it leaks like a siv

If it turns out you like the dewicked over the wicked other than the leaking EmpireMods has a "drip shield" made for 901's but has an adapter to use on 510 attys. It catches liquid and looks awesome. check it out.

I dont have one yet but the site shows it with an adapter that allow you to use them on a 510 and a 306.

Yes… Chinese manufactures are well-known for their dedication and investment… C’mon!
And the purpose of the wicking-fibers and bridge mesh is basically just carts-oriented…
Having said that, I do not think de-bridging is necessary… Unless you have a bottom-feeder maybe… Dewicking, though, makes things easier IMHO.

You can simply mod your atty by blocking the air-intake which goes down the threaded-end; its mere purpose is auto-batts operation or bottom-feeders… ! The silicone inner-plug to carto condoms might very well do this trick… It works!
