Not sure I follow... but the passthrough is the 'battery' part. You can screw the cartomizer -- with or without the tank -- onto the passthrough or a battery. The 'passthrough battery' mentioned above acts a both.

Those don't have the passthrough though, right?

No passthru,but with 2 1100mah batteries you won't need one.I don't think you can vape one dead before the other recharges and its always good to have backups
