Leaving 510 connections open

Is it okay to leave a mod with an exposed 510 connection in the drawer or a box, will dust and house debris ruin or harm the connection in any way? What should I use to plug it?

I never thought of plugging personally and never done it. I have many mods and alot are many years old and never had issues what so ever.

I do it all the time and have not had any problems. In a drawer it should be ok. You can always clean it out with a q-tip if it gets dust in it

I just take the batteries out of any mods I'm not using. The nicer ones go back in their box.

510 connections need routine maintenance anyway, no harm leaving it open / no delivery device attached.

If the drawer has a buck of debris or stuff that might damage things... just screw an old atty with out a coil onto the mod. To seal the 510.

Or clean out the crap from the drawer.

510's get junk in them all the time. Juice, which attracts dust and lint. But they are cleanable. I worry more about USB sockets. They are really hard to clean.

The 510 connection will be fine by wiping it out with the corner of a napkin or cloth.

I have mods that are years old and perform just fine without any TLC done on the 510 connectors. Yes, I cleaned them when I put them away, but it was just regular, simple maintenance.
