So I was vaping on my serpent mini RTA and suddenly my mod popped up a “check atomizer”. I got to my working mat and tried to adjust the connection with a flat screw driver it wouldn’t work. So I forced it a bit and then realized it was a
non-adjustable connection. I checked the connection and noticed to little dents in the gold plating due to forcing it with the screwdriver. I popped the tank on and now surprisingly enough it vapes smoothly.

Would that dents cause any problems to the tank or mod?

You can find a picture that I took with my camera but you cant see anything properly.I will just leave it there in any case

If you have small burrs sticking up on the screw/pin, then you might want to take a metal file and file it back smooth so it makes a more solid connection, but otherwise it should be fine.

Unless there are very deep scratches you are probably fine plus what Scott P said.

Next time maybe try a q-tip and rubbing alcohol in case there's a thin film of dried on e-liquid preventing a good connection... Maybe your screwdriver action scraped some of it off, IDK.

Also, sometimes in vaping things are just mysterious like that. Etc.

Not saying this was the case, but often "check atomizer" means there is a short in the coil and it should probably be replaced with a new one.

It also can mean your mod can tell a juice attachment is connected, but the electrical connection (center pin) isn't making proper contact. Sometimes the center pin of a mod's 510 connector gets pushed down into the mod. Maybe over-tightening a juice attachment on the mod can cause this. A simple tool can be used to gently elevate the center pin.

But won’t it file off the gold plating?

Short Answer:
Maybe, but if you have burrs sticking up then they are what is making the contact and not the gold plating anyway.

Long Answer:
Most people don't realize that the metal of your tank/rda adds to the total resistance of the coil circuit. Albeit it only adds a very tiny amount. Gold is a great conductor of electricity and the gold plating is there to try and reduce the total resistance added by the tank. IF you have burrs sticking up from the pin they are going to be the contact point with the center pin in the mod. These burrs will be much thinner than the pin in the tank and therefore add more resistance. This will still be small over all, but with those burrs sticking out the gold isn't helping you anyway. So even if you scratch off some or even all of the plating, you will still be better off than leaving the burrs sticking out because you will be connecting across the whole pin instead of just a tiny burr.

Now if what you have aren't burrs sticking out but are dents (pushed in areas) or if the burrs only intrude into the slot where the screwdriver head goes, then don't worry about it all. This only needs to be done if they are sticking up so that they make contact instead of the whole pin.

Alternative:
If you have burrs that stick outward from the pin, then they need to be removed. You don't have to use a file though. You could try to just cut them off smoothly with some good cutters, slice it off with some sort of smooth blade, or you could attempt to mash them back flat by gently using a small hammer. If you aren't keen on using any of these methods, then maybe look for a replacement pin. Literally anything will be better than leaving burrs sticking out.

Pins and that sort becomes oxidized after a while so its a good habit with 320 or higher grit sandpaper to give them a shine. I put some thin 2 way tape on my sandpaper and use a hole punch to punch out a dot, stick it to a hex wrench that fits inside the 510 , spin to shine the 510 pin. Some use pencil eraser but thats no where near as effective as the dot of sandpaper. I don't recommend using a file cause your removing metal and all it takes is that 1000th of a inch not to make connection.
