Seconding the suggestion to just put it in an empty cooler stashed somewhere in the car where no sun will get on it. Avoids condensation, and as long as it's not in the sunlight it shouldn't heat up anywhere near enough to be a worry.

You can also test it out by throwing a zippo or some change or something in it for a day, see how hot they feel when you go out for a break.

What some are forgetting, as the eliquid heats up, it gets thinner. When that happens, the person may go out to their car and find an empty tank.

Keeping the whole thing cool, cuts down on liquid loss.

I live in Florida, I know what it feels like to come back to an empty tank.

i live in Indiana so it's starting to get hot here and only going to get hotter...i know my car is pretty hot when i come out on breaks.
I usually counsel, if its too hot to leave a baby or dog in a car, its too hot to leave a battery in the car too.

OK! It's getting hotter out, so bringing this back up to the top is not a bad idea....besides, I have a couple questions/concerns on this subject.

I am about to take a 2 day trip "to the city" and the information has me a bit concerned about the batteries, so will confine my questions to that. The first day should be no problem, but day 2 we will be hitting a few stores for up to at most an hour in any of them. As always, I not only take extra batteries, but at least one other mod (cigarette protection carryover) just in case. I always leave the car with the sun roof open slightly and a couple windows cracked, but it can still get a bit warm (Yeah, I know, theft attraction).

So, my options. Everything in a Coilmaster carry case on the backseat floor (out of the sun of course) or batteries out of mod and in carry containers in a cooler? If in the cooler, is there a waiting period for putting them in use?

And at the risk of exposing my ignorance, what about the batteries out on a delivery truck all day? Or perhaps none of those trucks ever get that hot?

Again, I wouldn't leave my setup in a hot car that I would not leave a pet or baby in for an extended period of time.

Putting your setup in the glovebox or trunk is not a solution, either. It gets just as hot in there as it does in the cabin of your car.

Heat is the enemy of batteries. If they get too hot they will vent or explode.

Robin also brings up the point about temperature extremes for tanks and e-liquid. Heat causes e-liquid to drop in viscosity (it gets thinner), so your tanks may leak in hot weather.

I always carried my mods in a pants pocket. Including my Provari's. Cargo pants have huge pockets that can hold nearly any size mod.

Don't leave mods and batteries in your car if you live in the desert.

Yeah, that's why I say not to mention it to anyone even if you think they're "cool" or whatever. Workplace politics have a way of flipping that on you, or they may mention it to someone else they think is "cool", repeat, repeat, and now everybody knows about it. Low profile is key. The worst thing is getting fired from a job over some BS reason, meanwhile they know what you're doing but never say anything because it's only a rumor. Sounds silly but it happens.

Yeah I live in New England near the water, definitely cooler than where you are and I would never leave a battery in my car in summer....even if parked in the shade. As much as I hate to do it, I use an ego with a cheap top on it when at work and keep it in my pocket or hidden in my desk ( an option that you don't have). I also have the 15 minute break thing and I understand why you wouldn't want to waste time running to a locker.

I would think the cooler would work, just be sure that Provari is very well sealed in plastic so no condensation gets in. Moisture would be bad.

They make special bags for cameras, ipods, etc that I use while kayaking. Supposedly you can drop them in the water and no moisture will get in. They are cheap to buy. That might be a better option than a ziplock freezer bag.

When I used to work where I couldn't vape, I carried a 650 mah eGo battery with a 510 or 306 dripping atty on it. It may not be quite the same as your usual setup. But, it's plenty good enough for a 15 minute break. My little setup and a small bottle of juice would easily fit in any pocket.

You can keep your Provari in your purse and enjoy it on the way home after work.

What about a pouch hanging from a chain or cord around your neck, and dropped down inside your clothes? You might want something less heavy than a Provari, and I'd choose a pouch or case that fastens shut so my vape didn't stand a chance of falling out.

I'll answer that one for her.......I used to hang an Ego batt with a small tank around my neck at work when I first started vaping. Then I saw the videos online of e-cig batteries catching on fire and exploding. Then I had one heat up in my pants pocket until it got so hot it nearly tattooed my leg.

There's just something about blowing the contents of your bra into little bits that doesn't set well with us gals :p

I live in Vegas and I find a hot set-up equated into a bad vape. When I go outside and vape the whole unit heats up pretty quick and the whole vape experience falls from good to bad. Leave it in the car, especially if its parked in the sun is a bad idea, all round.

The best and only option is a cheap ego set up with a lanyard around your neck. I know, not what you wanted to hear, but it will get you through the day. And provide an insurance policy in case of an emergency.

Well, one (hopefully) last question.....

How would a plug in auto cooler work? Obviously not something to last hours and hours, but for an hour or so here and there during the day while in a store, restaurant, or vape shop (oh, wait. I would gladly take my kit into the vape shop!). Cools down to 40°F below "surrounding temp" and no ice to introduce moisture. I would think, with a couple windows and sun roof cracked, that 40° reduction would keep it at or below 100°, a temp regularly hit in the summer around here while out in the yard or barbequing. Whadayathink?
