September 4, 2015—Lee’s Summit, Missouri
Today, The Bistate Regional Advocates for vaping Education commends Lee’s Summit’s City Council on their decision to not pursue banning the use of Electronic Cigarettes where Smoking is prohibited. The evening started with several citizens testifying in opposition of restriction on vaping, after which Dr. Salanski and Dr. Kraemer of the Health Education Advisory Board presented a one sided evaluation of vaping with a recommendation for banning vaping in all public areas. Following this presentation Councilmen Derek Holland of the 3rd District recognized the danger of this proposal stating that “this action would send a message to people that vaping is no better than smoking.”
BRAVE thanks, Kansas City Regional Vice President, Bert Brown for his coordination efforts, and advocates Justin Callaghan, David Sedwick and Keith Williams for speaking in opposition. BRAVE also recognizes small business owners of Aqueous Vapor Lee's Summit and Vapor Lee's Summit who also presented comments.
