I notice that EVERY legislator or congress-person who is advocating bans and restrictions is a Dem....controll freaks!!..tax, spend, and regulate, its all about power and money for themselves...

Yes, because the other party would NEVER consider telling us what to do with our lives, like who we could marry, or what substances we can ingest. And they would NEVER do anything like give their corp. friends no-bid contracts worth billions of dollars.

Please. All politicians are crooks and liars. Yes, even the ones that wear American flag lapel pins.

It doesn't matter what side of the aisle they come from. That's not the point in this case. The point is trying to educate them and help shift their positions. If it were all Republicans we'd be doing the same thing.

if our forefathers saw what this country has become they would be so sad

we need another boston tea party to fight the massive goverment control

Seriously, denec. This isn't appropriate. We're all trying to work together. Pressing your partisan agenda over several threads isn't helping.

i can tell you this as long as dems are in control there is no way in hell e-cigs will get legal especially with the latest bill giving fda total control

that is a fact

I don't know how many more ways I can say this, denec. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO PRESS YOUR ANTI-DEMOCRATIC AGENDA. In case it hasn't crossed your mind yet, there are a lot of Democrats on this board who want to help advance the cause of protecting e-cigarettes from banning. Your rhetoric is off-putting and counterproductive. Please take it somewhere else.

sorry you are getting so testy but it is the dems who just voted for this bill and it is a democratic president who signed this big tobacco bill and it is the dems who introduce a bill to ban e-cigs

Marketed towards young smokers, untested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and lacking any governmental oversight whatsoever, the skyrocketing popularity of “e-cigarettes” has spurred Suffolk County Legislative Majority Leader Jon Cooper (D-Lloyd Harbor) to introduce legislation that would prohibit the sale of these devices to anyone under the age of 19. Cooper’s bill would also place the same public usage restrictions on e-cigarettes that are already in effect for traditional forms of smoking.

from the article

so it is the dems that are always behind it

I guess some people just don't know when to stop. At least you could be informed when you criticize. Is that too much to ask? Look at who voted for HR 1256. It wasn't just Democrats. Plenty of Republicans voted for it too. Most of them, in fact. Furthermore, the bill hasn't been signed into law yet, so your statement about that is incorrect too.

Look, it's simple. We're all trying to work together here. Democrats and Republicans. There are going to be moments when we clash and there are going to be threads where a discussion of our various political viewpoints are appropriate. This isn't one of them. All you're doing here is launching rhetorical attacks on a party you disagree with. It's counter productive and inappropriate for this thread. I suggest you give it a rest before a moderator closes the thread altogether.

That's not "being testy," that's trying to move forward.
