Hey all :)

So i am quite a newbie in rebuildables and like a month ago i bought a lemo. I was happy with it and the pre built coil. My problems started when i made my own coils and currently i am super frustrated!! I tried micro coils and standard coils with 26g,28g at 2.4,3.2 mm from resistances of 0.8 to 1.5 and every time no matter the wattage on my ipv mini the throat hit is really really harsh! The juices i used are 12mg and 10mg but had no issues with the prebuilt coil. I think my micro coils are quite good since i used a coil jig (how wrong can i get with that..) so i am wondering does anyone have any tips on that issue? Is it my wicking? is the wicking not enough? (Fiirst time i think i used too much and had dry hits when chain vaping). Or is it my lemo?

Thanks in advance and looking forward hearing your thoughts. :)

I doubt nicotine is the issue if you're used to vaping 12mg liquids.

Assuming the coil is ok as you say, a couple possibilities come to mind, especially seeing as the device is an iPV Mini.

First, it could be a wicking issue, and if that's the case, my guess would be to little cotton causing it go dry to soon. A picture of your build and wicking would help. I like to run the cotton thick in my Lemo's and I use 2.2-2.4mm coils:

(These pics show a 2.2mm coil using 26ga wire)

As a fellow owner of an iPV Mini, I can say from experience that if the connection between the Mini and the atomizer isn't just right, you can get screwy resistance readings that go all over the place. And if it chooses to read the resistance to high, it will fire at a ridiculously high voltage and results in a rude surprise. With the Lemo, I've found it best to keep the Lemo's 510 positive pin screwed in all the way to alleviate that problem. Just make certain the Mini is reading the resistance you expect. 0.1Ω low from the actual resistance value isn't unusual on the Mini. Annoying, but not unusual.

I'm having the same issue as you, and i'm vaping 6mg on my 5 days old Lemo. I'm still using the stock prebuilt coil, only dry burned and rewicked once. On a new wick, i don't feel any harshness, but after a couple of tank fills i do notice that when i leave my lemo sitting for a long period of time without vaping on it, i do get the harshness. One thing i tried that seems to work for me, is taking the wattage up on my regulated mod. That seems to fix it for me, given that my Lemo is consistently wicking like a charm to endure the higher wattage without any dry hits. For example, i'd be vaping on my Lemo at 18 watts for a cooler vape on the stock coil reading 1.1 ohm and then leave it sitting for an hour or two, or even over a night sleep, and then when i start vaping on it again i'd get the harshness, so i just raise my wattage say to 22-24 watts and within a couple of minutes the harshness goes away. From there, taking the wattage back down to 18 watts would not give me any harshness, and i can't really explain as i don't quite understand why or how this is happening. Needless to say, what worked for me might not necessarily work for you. What VG/PG ratio are you using? What is is your AFC setup? Closing the airflow for a bit might also help. I'm fairly new to this like you, so it's all just suggestions and i hope things work out well with your vaping experience.

try a 26g spaced coil with larger ID like 3mm-3.5mm. 8/9 wrap should get about 1.2 ohm. you wont have to mess with the coil so much as spaced coils are pretty much plug n play. and the large ID makes wicking a bit easier and should provide more juice to the coil. just make sur you keep the juice flow hole clear when putting the wick into the well.

well the current juice is 50/50 but tbh next step will be to try maybe 6mg nicotine if this keeps going and my built is fine.

It's probably a combination of nic and pg. I used to vape 50/50 but have been on 70/30 or max vg since I got my lemo.

I actually messed up a substantial Juice order last week (over 200 ml) by getting 50/50. When it came in, I figured I'd just deal with it but after half of a tank, I realized I couldn't. Way way way too harsh. I ended up placing an order for the same juices in max vg so I can mix them.
