I don't know if the pre-built coil in your Lemo was pre-burned but that could be it. Most wire comes with industrial lubricant on it (no extra charge) that has to be cleaned off or you will get nasty taste and bad throat hit.

actually m8 the pre built coil was great the problem is with the coils i made afterwards

I may be the only one but doesn't 22W seem pretty high on that type of a coil/wick setup? I can't vape my coil and wick which are similar above about 13 W.

Also, I struggled (and sometimes still do) with getting my wick just so and not blocking juice channels. If there's anything wonky going on , you'll get dry hits and scorched juice. I know from lots of experience with it

I have been trying to get a decent spaced coil build myself as many people suggest that. For some reason I struggle with getting it right, so usually go back to touching coils in frustration.

Well i heard of ppl chain vaping at 25-26 with no trouble... and yeah spaced coils can be a bit tricky to perfect and wick. They told me get lemo... its easy.... ahh i might go back to my nautilus!

I have also struggled to build a perfectly spaced coil, and one of the ways i tried was winding my wire on a 3mm screw, fitting it on the screw knurls to get the spacing. Then, i removed the coil and put it on a 3mm screwdriver and pressed the coil closer together with my finger nails. That got me a close to perfect spaced coil.

my spaced 26g, 3.5mm, 8/9 wrap comes to 1.2-1.3 ohm. i use only a machine screw. the trick is to have the screw in the coil when mounting the coil and to have lead as short as possible trap in the post holes. after you you have the lead tightened down the coil will feel tight against deck. Use the screw and pull the coil up off the deck. it well take a little work, but its important that its hard to pull up on as it will keep the leads from collapsing toward the coil. but once the coil is off the deck it will be practically perfect.

now for wicking:
i make my ends shorter than most people. mine are usually short enough to place them on the deck before i put the chimney on. sometimes i tuck them in after i put the chimney on it just depends on how i feel at the time, but either way my wicks are just long enough to touch the deck without blocking the juice channel.

continued pics post:
i use the bridge method to stabilize juice flow on both sides of the well and to hold the coil's wick away from the juice channels. ( i think it may even enhances the flavor abit too.)
IMG_7288[1].jpg
here you can see the light coming through the juice channel and thats what you want.

fill your tank maybe give it a prime and enjoy

edit: almost forgot i vape at 25-40 watts depending on what flavor i'm vaping

weirdwillie started the bridge method. you can find it here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rta/601945-lemo-rta-build-pics-165.html and continues to the fallow of the link. lot of the lemo users use more wicking material than i think is necessary. so with that in mind it was designed so that if one of the juice channels/one side one well wasn't getting juice the other one would make up for it. My way changes that a little, as it still shares juices from each side of the well, but more importantly it keeps the coil's wick from blocking the juices channels in the well while providing more vacuum as the bridge wick pulls more juice and in return means i don't have to prime as much with a fresh tank and wick. Not to mention enhances the favor (IMO) as the coil heats up enough to get the juice on the bridged wicks which i post of next time when my tank empties. i hope what i said makes since as i've been drinking tonight lol..... :)

if you would like a video on the process of how i build and wick mine let me know. i'll make it happen. next time my juice runs out.

dont worry man i made sense of most of what u said :) Just a couple questions, why do u trap the wire in the holes and not under screws? i find with 26g its also easy to trap under screws and less fuss. What is prime? (remember i am new to this :) ) Do u think 3.2mm or 3.5mm is better than 2.4 that i currently wrap my coils? and actually a video will much appreciated not just by me but also from a lot of lemo users. thnks again for the info

Priming...When you have the wick in place and the bottom half of the chimney is on, I drop 2-3 drops onto the wick for both sides. Basically, 2-3 drops per side. Let it soak in. Then, the top part of the chimney, glass and then top of tank go on. Flip it over and fill.

When all is done and you light the coil, you will have some juice at the coil so as to not burn the dry wick. If you burn the dry wick right off the bat, the whole tank will taste bad.

Hope helps

i find trapping under the screws is harder for me. especially when i start pulling the coil off the deck. so for me trapping in the holes is easier.

i've always have had problems coil that are smaller than 3mm. i find i always get dry hits. it probably has something to having to use less wick as the ID is smaller. i know that not everyone has this problem. but i see alot of people struggle with coils that are 2.5mm, 3/32, or small in the lemo. So yes try a bigger ID should make thing easier.

As far as priming going. Its the same concept as starting a water pump. you need a way to the vacuum in the tank so the juice keeps feeding the wicks. Frenchfry1942's way helps, but the usual way is to plug the 4 air holes with your fingers and give you tank a few puffs. you'll see air bubbles come up in the tank and thats what you want to. sometime you may need to do a couple time between vapes on a fresh wick and tank.

when this tank becomes empty i'll make the video.

I've found with the Lemo that the coil height over the airhole makes a HUGE difference in how harsh the vape is. My builds are 3mm diameter, 28 or 26 gauge Kanthal (whichever is handy), 6 wraps and the bottom of the coil even with the tops of the screws.. Awesome flavor and not harsh at all.. I trim the wicks to sit even with the top of the deck.
