America hasn't been a free country in ages.

If America was a free country I wouldn't be forced by law to do things like buy insurance or pay for a pyramid scheme disguised as a retirement plan that will be bankrupt before I can ever use it.


The last time America was truly a free country the middle class income tax rate was 20% and government spending was just 17% of GDP. That was also the last time the Federal Government operated debt free. Since then there has been a steady progression of more restrictions on freedom, more government mandated restrictions on my personal freedom, more government mandated expenses, ever increasing taxes, and and ever increasing debt, none of which equals free.

My 14 year old daughter owes the federal government over $55,000 right now. She's not even old enough to have a job. How is that a free country?

Leftist or Rightist, you've got to admit that there is something fundamentally wrong with this country when children owe the government more than the average annual income for an adult.

That's the national debt on a per capita basis. Every man, woman, and child in the US would have to pay over $55,000 to get the federal government out of debt. And that's assuming the federal government doesn't put us any farther into debt than it is right now.

$18 Trillion of debt divided by 320 million people.

And that's assuming that every person in America pays taxes, which nearly half do not.
