Less can be more

I new to the DIY world and can say I like it a lot. Thanks to everyone who contributes here. The knowledge is awesome compared to how much I would have poured down the drain. One thing I have really learned is just how strong the super concentrate flavors are. I mixed up some 555, MLB, and French pipe at aprox 4%, and they all pretty much tasted the same. They seem to all have a cigar wrapper taste? Very strong to my palate. I diluted them down to 2% and, wow, what a difference. The flavors really pop IMHO. Guess that's good. I can make more with less. . Anyway, thanks again for all the info. Cheers.

I agree with your experience. I usually start at about 30% of the flavoring that I see in most recipes and sometimes that is still too much.

30% or 3%... 30% is a little high don't you think??
