Some time back I decided to go crazy and tried making some DIY juice. I mixed 36 mg VG juice with some plain VG in equal portions to make an 18 mg juice then added coffee and chocolate flavorings. I overdid the coffee, didn't add enough chocolate and mixing 100% VG made it thicker than road tar. Basically what I ended up with was "mud."
But for some reason I didn't throw it away......
That was about a month ago. Fast forward to tonight and I'm getting low on juice thanks to my failure to plan ahead. All I have are some nasty, perfume tasting juices from random vendors and..... well.... this "home brew" stuff.
What the heck? I'll give it a vape. Can't be any worse than the perfume, right?
OMG...... Perfect throat hit, thick vapor and apparently the VG calmed the coffee taste down because now it carries just a nice, mild flavor. I added just a touch of Vaporbomb's Kona Coffee and I'm in vaping heaven. It's still thick as molasses but widening the hole in my dropper fixed that.
I now have something that will carry me through until I can get some more juice ordered and I won't have to resort to sneaking back to analogs. The sad thing is, I will likely never be able to duplicate it as I had no idea what I was doing when I mixed it and I still don't. I doubt I will even try again since this was pure, blind luck.
I guess the moral of the story is to let your juices sit and age awhile. If you don't like something or it tastes just a little "off" go back and try again in a few weeks before passing final judgment. Just like wine, the "fermentation" process takes a little time and you might be pleasantly surprised with what you end up with. Especially in the DIY world of e-juices.
