Hey everyone.

This is the beginning of my journey to quit smoking:). My order of a M401 from EVAPERS just arrived. Price was good and the communication from the guys there was quick. I took some time to familiarize myself with the unit before jumping in.
The packaging was good there was no damage, and I had great communication from this vendor.
So far I have tried the 3 flavors I have (tobacco, Butterscotch, Watermelon). The tobacco is so-so, it really turned me off at first, but has gotten better. The Butterscotch is probably not going to be my favorite, but the Watermelon...now that's where it's at for me at the moment. This surprises me, I would of thought that I liked the heavier flavors more. I still would like to find a "heavier" flavor that I like to go with the food, & the coffee. Thats what I like the most about the analogs.
I now have to remember to take it slow and not keep puffing on it all day. I never smoked in my house, so the temptation to keep going at it all evening will be strong.
Still waiting on another order from buyreddragon.com to show up. But so far I am happy with my initial unit.
Let the adventure begin.

The initial bad taste would be the atomizer. When it first comes in there's something coating it to keep it from drying out. If you take the atomizer and put your lips around the threaded end, with a paper towel in front of the bridge, and blow... it should take it out. Or you could wait and it'll go away after a while of vaping (couple days).

I would recommend that you assign each atty its own flavor. If you're using multiple flavors on the same one, it'll eventually have the flavoring from all of them in it. That'll diminish your pleasure from each different flavor.

Don't let your atty get too dry or too wet. There's a sweet spot for it, you'll find out. Also, the cartridges you have right now are filled with the poly-fill material. I'd strongly suggest you look into the PTB mod. It's a simple way to increase the longevity of your carts. Can put more drops in and it wicks better if done right.

To answer the question you had in another post: I blew directly into a non-smokers face (with his permission, a friend of mine)... he did detect a slight smell. Said it was almost like sweet pipe tobacco (was using johnson creek's Tennessee cured tobacco flavored) but he said it didn't smell bad to him, whereas analog tobacco smoke really stinks. Haven't had anyone complain yet, and I basically vape everywhere. The smell won't last more than a few seconds.

Hope you enjoy your new toy ^.^b and as I'm sure you know, if you have any questions people here are glad to help answer.

Congratulations on your decision to buy an ecig and welcome to the forum.

Try ordering some sample size bottles of eliquid from different suppliers to try. If you like the flavor, you can order a larger size.

I can personally recomment HV liquid from Nhaler.com for liquid with great taste, vapor and throat hit.

For Mseries stuff, i can't recommend absoluteyecigs.com enough. They have virtually every Mseries model there is and have pretty darn good CS. Plus, you're buying direct from the folks who manufactures them. I'm glad that you like your M401. You should get the PCC, manual batts and passthrough next. It will rock your vaping experience.

Welcome to the forum!
Glad to see another one pick up the m-series. So many people seem to be stuck on 510's, and I really think the m4x's produce some wonderful vapor, and they're so close to the size and shape we're used to as smokers.

If you ever smoked menthols, I suggest giving that a try. It's a truly bulletproof flavor.
Also, coffee, which I especially enjoy mixed with chocolate and/or vanilla. Though it tastes nothing like tobacco cigarettes, it reminds me of smoking in all the pleasant ways, and none of the negative ones.

Wow, still can't get over how quick the replys come in this forum. Thanks for all the tips guys. I'm starting to notice some increase in the flavor. I wonder if it's the atty or if it's kinda like when you try certian things in life for the first time. Those that have an "aquired taste"...ie scotch, wine, cigars. With those things the more you try the more flavor you can pick out.

Congrats and best of luck! It's a bit of trial and error to find the flavors that you really like, and your taste will change a bit over time. I thought that after 40 years of smoking, I'd want tobacco flavors, but I found that I prefer things like coffee, pear, cherry and vanilla - I'm vaping on some really good Cafe Machiato from Tasty Vapor right now. I don't recall knowing anyone who, after taking their first drag of a cigarette said, "Man, this tastes great!" - I'd bet that most of us gravitated to the brand that tasted the least like old socks. It's great to have so many better choices now.

Three things that are different right off with e-cigs. The new atomizer has a rather offensive taste, but will go away after some use. Changing from tobacco to vapor is something like going from coke to diet coke, after a while it taste as good if not better than tobacco. And finally, vaping uses different techniques than smoking an analog and you have to learn what works best for you. Vaping is not the same as smoking and you have to go through the learning curve to get to the promised vapor heaven. Once you have been through the rites of passage you will enjoy vaping more than you did smoking, at least for me I did. There's some wonderful flavors to experiment with and the possibilities with mixing you own are endless. I would like to know how successful people have been with getting off tobacco with e-cigs compared to the other nicotine replacement systems used. I personally believe that vaping has been successful more than any other system or technique used. I have been tobacco free for 5 months now and without the e-cig that would be impossible. The e-cig is going to make many people healthier and save more life's than anybody knows yet. I don't even think about a cigarette any more, but I think about vaping all the time.

Welcome Bulldogge,
Don't worry about Vaping all the time... You'll find your happy spot. Picture if you will:
Wednesday afternoon my Pure Smoker Passthrough arrives at my door. So now i know where and what i am going to be doing this Thanksgiving weekend. Sitting at the computer, Mixing Low nic juice and vaping my days away... well look, it's Friday night and i am still mixing some nice stuff. Don't even come close to wanting that dreaded analog and if thats what it takes, oh well.
But, good luck to you.. Remember you have friends here.

Just make sure to prep yourself for the shedding of the tar in your lungs. I went to the ER because I was having problems. It went away after a few days, but I was an Ultra-Light smoker. For me it was similar to a mild sunburn, barely noticeable, with a bit of tightness in the lungs.

It took a few weeks before this kicked in (the tar cleaning).

Welcome,

I am new to vaping also. I just started approximately a week ago. I have still been smoking regular cigarettes, but my consumption has dramatically decreased and is dropping each day without even trying. I hope to be off of cigarettes completely sometime next week. Yesterday I had 5 cigarettes and this is from someone who chained smoked 3-4.5 packs a day for about 25 years. I am currently chain vaping 36 mg liquid.

I have only tried e-juice from a few different vendors; however, the e-juice from myfreedomsmokes.com seems much more flavorful and the vapor production appears greater with this juice. The customer service is also excellent. The night after I submitted my order, Chris from myfreedomsmokes.com actually called me at home and said I forgot to get my free gift (2-20ml of the 24 mg e-juice). In addition, he noticed that everything I ordered was the 36 mg e-juice so instead he gave me 2-20 ml in the 36 mg strength. A very nice guy!

So far so good. I have dropped to about 1-2 cigarettes per day. I am still to really warm up to the flavor. Scouring the web for the next flavor purchase. I am leaning towards the Ruyan #4, or a coffee flavor.
I am also looking a some of the Johnson Creek stuff. There was some mention on this site about their flavors killing the atomizers, but then I read that this was a problem with a batch, but has now been solved. Can anyone offer up knowledge of this? I did scour the thread, but its huge and was difficult to find conclusive evidence of what happened, if anything. And I just do not have the time to read 30 plus pages of thread.

Welcome to the world of vaping. I am also glad to see another newbie starting out with a M401, the 510's seem to be taking over the world. :)

Check out the Mxxx series forum for some good information. I especially recommend the thread on dipping. I'm very fond of this method now, and the 401 atty's are perfect for it.

Even when I purchased a Bartleby mod, I had Jay make me a 401 version so I can continue to dip.

Good luck and have fun!
