Ok, I got my Copper this weekend, so I'm set. Now to get the wife off tobacco.

FACTS
1. She wants something that looks like a cigarette
2. She would prefer not to have to press a button

ASSUMPTIONS
1. The Joye 510 is a better product than the KR808-D1
2. Joye 510 automatic batteries suck

Am I wrong about 510 vs KR8 or should I stick to my plan of getting her a Joye 510 starter kit and some cartomizers?

Well I think regardless of what starter kit you get her, I think the key is going to be to make it as simple as possible. Fill her carto's for her, make sure she has the battery charger wherever she needs it, keep them charged for her if you have to. Make sure you have flavors that she loves and wants more than analogs. Whatever you do don't nag her, let her quit naturally and let the process happen, when she is ready she will stop it altogether. Good luck, and maybe something pink or purple would please her more than just plain black. Good Luck!

let her know that some automatic batteries (without the button) have a bad habit of turning on by themselves. Well, due to noises and other vibrations. so, for the convenience of not pushing a button you run the risk of lossing some charge on the battery while you arent using it.

A manual battery was recommended to me, and i am very happy with it.

The autos are a pain because wind and loud noises causes them to turn on. I would think cartos would be the easiest solution. I do not have any KR8 experience but i know that some KR8 cartos are garbage and some are fantastic. Have to find out which are the good ones. I've heard KR8 batts are a true 3.7V.

Another alternative would be a penstyle that has huge carts such as an 801. I think the HV 801 is quite interesting and have heard great things about it.

I love my 808. I have not used these yet but Inhaler has some assembled in the USA auto batts that are apparently vaccum (not sound) activated and are harder to kill (with juice) because the mechanism is in the other end of the batt. I have not used one so I do not know for sure if they are "all that" but it may be worth some research although I think their kits may be pricier (49.50 and use saveinnj 5% code). I started with autos and switched to manual but recently have acquired an auto again (a vac switch auto) and I have really been liking it. I don’t use it all the time but I keep it in rotation. I would steer clear of the sound activated ones though. And Bert (above) is right some cartos are better than others. My all time favos were from inhaler (mega cartos) and I am also really liking the ones I just picked up from Litecig.

Oh she's ready, she was floored by my Copper. She just needs a KR8 or 510 starter kit, and I am trying to figure out which one will deliver the more satisfying experience. Yeah, she can use my juice and I will make sure her carts are full so she doesn't need to mess with any of that.
yeah, why not get her a copper?

i'm a huge fan of my 808, and like Zenfrogs pointed out, the vacuum-switch makes it near impossible to activate unintentionally (unlike the 510's), and the batteries tend to last longer than 510's without going for something larger than a standard cigarette form factor. kr808 to me is the best first-timers choice out there, and i still use mine when i go out even after picking up some other stuff to use at home and work. that's just my story though, many people love their 510's.

Kr808 fan here as well. I used the XLs for 6 months before finally deciding I wanted a little more battery life. The XLs are 380 mah and lasted me 6 hours when new. I'm now getting 10 hours out of the 650 mah eCo. I also prefer the 808 premium cartos over the regular 510s. They just seem to last better through numerous refills.
