So, I just got my Hexohm V2.1 last weekend, so far I've been running the yellow MXJO 35A batteries, and it's been pretty awesome. I was just wondering, is there a better battery for the Hexohm? I know with regular mech mods, higher amp limit usually equals a harder hit, but I'm unsure with the Hexohm because it has the OKL T20 chip, so I wasn't sure if that regulates that anyways. My buddy at my local shop recommended the Samsung 25Rs, and I have some of those too. So far, nothing is really performing badly, I'm just wanting to make sure I'm getting the most out of this sweet device. Any input is appreciated, thanks ECF!

The amp rating on a battery is the limit that the battery can (supposedly) handle. Many rewraps have over stated ratings which is why the most recommended battery brands are Samsung, Sony, LG. They're major manufacturers and their ratings generally stand up to testing. Speaking of testing, check out Mooch's blog. He's the battery guru. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blog-entry/list-of-battery-tests.7436/

I'm not sure if I'm answering my own question here, if I crank the potentiometer all the way up, the output is 6 volts, I was told not to build lower than .3 ohms on the device, so safety in mind, my build is exactly .3 ohms, using my ohm calculator, at 6 volts with a .3 ohm resistance, it should require 20A and fire at 120W. So would this mean anything over 25A (just to be on the safe side), is sort of unnecessary? I want to get the most out of my device while of course being well within the safety zone.

MXJO's are re-wraps. Don't trust the amp ratings on them. The 25r's are good batteries, but if I'm going over the 85Wish mark I want a 30A battery. I use Sony VTC4's exclusively anyway, but I like a big safety margin. As your batteries age the CDR drops off, and unless you can test them there's no way to know for sure how badly they have degraded. Also keep in mind that there can be a .1 ohm margin of error with your ohm meter. Even the best ones aren't always perfect. When you get down that low 1/10 ohm can make a BIG difference in the amp draw. At .2 ohm and 6V you increase to 30A and 180W.

These are what I use. They are commonly counterfeited, but these 3 links are to reputable suppliers. If they are out of stock one place, one of the others usually has them.
You can also look for the Samsung 25r's there and the LG HB6. Those are the only 3 batteries I would put in that mod, and I wouldn't use the Sammys over 80 - 85W. The VTC4's are the best balance of CDR and mAh though.
