I think that when Budgies/Parakeets are paired up, they are less likely to connect with their humans and are much less likely to mimic. I say as long as they are happy, who cares! :)

I figured that, but when I was initially in the pet shop and looking, well they appeared to be already bonded so... I ended up getting them both.

I'd never actually had a pair before, just singular birds that socialised with each other during their flight times together. So, it's really nice to see how they interact as a couple.

And I left the door open by accident again the other day. The girlie flew out, over the skinny kitty, who looked shocked before diving behind the sofa in fright. The fatty kitty sat on the floor dumbfounded. Doggy...done nothing.

I just caught her back end the first time, and just got a load of feathers. The second time I missed. And the third time, she landed on the guinea pig cage, and I caught her. She wasn't too pleased.

Just, she looks so funny, as her long tail feathers came out! So, she's not long. Ha ha!

The pair randomly have these "who's taller" competitions. She always wins, but now he's like, "But I have a tail though! Lol!".

LOL! birds are a riot! sorry she lost her crowing glory, silly girl. may be time to clip her wings? My last Parakeet, Bogie, would actually escape on occassion, but all we had to do was whistle call him and he would land on your hand, the farthest he got once, was across the street into neighbors tall pine, it took my husband wearing his cap to get him down that time, he used to hang over the bill of the hat and pluck hubby's eyebrows, lmao

Yeah, I deffo need to do them! Every time I look at her I laugh. She just looks so funny.

They're quite tired, but refusing to sleep. She has her eyes closed but it chatting away on a perch. He's on the swing, chatting back, but leaning forwards, on one leg, like he's gonna tip off. They talk so much - I have no idea what they find to talk about every day. o_O

Ha ha! That's a great achievement though! I have never been able to hand tame a bird in that way, yet. Other animals, yes, but never a bird. Maybe it's '''' I wear a lot of silver rings. Hmm...

Ha ha!

I've been on more trains and buses and trains than I can count this last week or so.

Been to a few different places in Dublin, and Galway today. It's really hot here right now.

Had a cold Dr. Pepper today with my lunch, in the park, while birds looked for food, kids played, a guy was making huge bubbles, and there was a protest being filmed for the news. Nothing out of the ordinary besides the heat.

It probably wouldn't. Lol. Just, I was doing a lot of walking around Dublin, and around an art gallery (which I didn't finish looking at, so I'll have to go back quite a few times).
Be sure to share pictures! i have always wanted to go to Ireland!

Seen on a wander... I always try and go different routes, when in Dublin, so I see new things.

That was on top of a building and moving when I first saw it. Swaying a bit and waving it's armies while opening it's mouth. I was the other side of the road and quickly scanned for something to use as a weapon. Ha ha!

LOL I immediately told the husband. He is looking it up now. Earlier he was optimistically discussing that odd flashes he saw in the sky might be aliens looking at his labyrinth. We were busy praying for each other, so I told him I'd pray for "alien contact." They're probably weather balloons or whatnot.

He said, "Only if it's GOOD contact," and I was like, "Honey I can perhaps accept your desire that UFOs are real, but I'm sorry, but with aliens I have to think all bets are off as far as them being "good." LOL.

Sometimes I think he's more nuts than me.
