so i went through and cleaned and dry burned all my spare attys. Is it okay to let them sit dry? or is bad for them? if it is how much liquid should i prime them with?
Nichrome wire is corrosion resistant. My favorite atty's are from Cisco and none of them have primer. When I store attys I place the silicone caps and place them in a small baggie with their friends. I am really not sure why some manufactures insist on using that god aweful machine oil tasting primer anyway. Prior to use just make sure you hit them with about 4 or 5 drops of juice to get them good and moist. Hope that helps.
I use a basic DSE901 at present. I've personally never needed more than three drops and a fresh filled cart to get things going again - I usually have more problems with flooding than anything though. Still working on that but the Marineland blue filter in my cart seems to be doing a much better job.
yea on a dry atty after a good dry burn clean 4 drops and a fresh cart brings it back to life. Just didnt want my spares to go bad sitting dry. heard once that its bad for them. i dont see why i dont think it will rust
Maybe you are thinking of this: some people have had issues where they leave an nonempty atty sitting upright for an extended period, where the left over juice gums up the works. I just leave mine face down (battery connector up) and haven't had an issue.
