Hey guys. I know that RTD vapor comes highly recommended, but I have an issue. I would like to know if any of you have had this issue with them.

I ordered LG HB6 batteries and they arrived today. They look legit, but they have a sticker on them that says 2500Mah battery.

As far as I know (and their website says) these are supposed to be 1500Mah batteries.

I'm concerned because I got them because they were 30A and now I don't want to use them because I have no idea what kind of battery they are.

They look EXACTLY like HB6 batteries but have a green sticker that reads "IMR 18650 2500mAh 3.7V

Anbody ever gotten fake batteries from RTD? Again I thought they were legit.

Nick

Does the battery (other than that label) look like this?

For the purposes of shipping Li batteries, stickers showing the type, capacity, and voltage are placed on to meet the shipper's identification requirements. Shippers cannot be expected (or believe they can be expected to) interpret the printing right on the wrap, so that extra generic sticker is applied (and I usually pull it off and toss it). RTD might have applied the incorrect sticker to the battery, reading 2500 mAh instead of 1500.

If the underlying wrap matches above, my best suggestion would be to simply email RTD and ask if that mislabel is just that or not. I have not heard of RTD shipping counterfeits. However, judging whether a battery is a counterfeit or not is best done by examining the wrap itself as above, and not relying on the generic shipping label they slap on.

It's actually a light beige wrap. The only place I've seen that pink wrap is on Mooch's guide.
RTD, VaporDNA, etc all show the beige wrap....

I emailed them, but no response yet. Only been a few hours.

I'm thinking incorrect labels/stickers. Contact the supplier and ask them to clarify.

I hope so.. I've placed many orders with them and never had a problem. I just wonder how they could put the wrong sticker on all 4. They are the battery experts. lol

I've never used one, so all I have to go by is that chart. I still suspect it was just an incorrect sticker. As I said, I haven't heard of RTD ever shipping fakes. Although if I received a beige instead of pink, I would probably have emailed RTD anyway not knowing it was an updated wrap.

As 2500 mAh is probably way more common than 1500, maybe it's as silly as they ran out of the correct stickers and just wanted to get it shipped out. Not sure what their business hours are, but I'm sure you'll hear back by tomorrow. Please post the outcome, I'm curious about this as well.

Got the reply. Here it is:

Hello Nick,

Thank you for contacting us. The sticker on these HB6 is a generic label placed on the batteries to meet international shipping regulations. The sticker has no bearing on the batteries capacity. Sometimes the stickers do not match the specs of the batteries exactly.

The batteries you purchased are authentic LG 18650 1500mAh. You can peel the sticker off and discard it as it was only applied for shipping.

Best regards,

Randy

I went back and looked at Mooch's posts. The beige was the wrap before the pink. The pinks tested at 32A and the beige at 30A

Beige benchtest:
LG HB6 30A 1500mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...better than SX30 at >25A

Pink benchtest:
LG HB6 Pink 30A 1500mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...great 32A/1500mAh battery, better than ivory HB6

I feel better now. Thanks!
