Hi there, I can't find this answer. Is there any safety concern that goes with li-ion batteries, such as my protected 18500 smoktech batteries and my IMR 18490 batteries, and changing altitude. I live in colorado and I plan on going up to the mountains pretty soon. Obviously, I'll be going from being at 5480 feet above sea level to somewhere around 10000 feet above sea level, but should I be concerned about my batteries with this altitude change? I know we take out PVs on planes, and ship batteries that way, but for some people that isn't that often. I go to the mountains quite often.

Not being a worry wart, just curious. Thanks!

No worries for changing altitude. Batteries vent when the internal pressure extremely high, I think I read once that it is in the 80-100 psi range. Going from 5000ft to 10000ft is less than 3psi. Even then, the internal pressure will not change since it is sealed. The only thing that will affect internal pressure is heat and chemical reaction.
